Paul Robinson makes interesting comments on the future of Tottenham youngster

Paul Robinson reckons that the arrival of Sergio Reguilon could spell the end for Ryan Sessegnon at Tottenham.

Sessegnon joined the Lilywhites last summer after an impressive time with Fulham.

He joined Spurs as one of the highest-rated teenagers in the country and he was expected to become a better player when he joined the club.

However, a combination of injury and bad form saw him feature in very few games last season.

The hope had been that this campaign would be a better one for him, but Spurs have just signed Sergio Reguilon which means that he has even more competition for a starting spot and Robinson thinks he will likely have to leave the club.

The former Tottenham goalkeeper reckons that the arrival of Reguilon will force Sessegnon to move out on loan or join Danny Rose through the door permanently.

“It’s great headaches for Jose to have now,” Robinson said as quoted by HITC, “You can see the starting XI.

“We are talking about the likes of Lo Celso, Bergwijn, Moura, Lamela, Dele Alli and Eric Dier, who cannot get into [Robinson’s best Spurs] starting XI. That’s just my personal opinion on the starting XI.

“I think the arrival of Matt Doherty has been a very, very astute signing. Serge Aurier gives the team a lot going forward, but defensively they conceded a lot down that side.

“Reguilon coming in at left-back. I think that potentially spells the end for Ryan Sessegnon. It will probably see him move out on loan or he will leave along with Danny Rose.”

Fair point but I’d still keep them and offload others first starting with Foyth!

Call’m what you like. Both not good enough to play for Tottenham. You won’t win anything with TWO RUBBISH players in your team. Get them gone I say.

Yes, with matches coming thick and fast in a long seasons my logic is purely down to squad rotation!

Still not convinced about RS if he has a future at Spurs. Whilst he has his critics including myself Davies is another dependable solid utility squad player you need about the place.

Keep Eric and move sessy on? The other way round you mean. This time last year sess was a teenager and you wanna move him on? He is the future (Davies ain’t) He’s not a RIGHT sider who’s type can be found everywhere. It would be stupid to sell him. Season long loan to a prem club if anything.

Agree with both of those but think a loan for Sess would be a start, just to see if he can get the form back. Should be no end of Takers for his services.

Worth retaining Eric Dier who is a handy utility squad player!
Regarding RS it’s strange why his talent completely deserted him at Spurs.
Best that he moves on.
