Paul Merson states which Premier League club needs to pursue Dele Alli

By Eddie Razo -

The January transfer window is now open, and Tottenham Hotspur can now part ways with any players that they don’t see fit under manager Antonio Conte, who came aboard the project in November.

One player reportedly on the way out of north London is Dele Alli. Former English footballer Paul Merson states to the Daily Star that Newcastle United needs to pursue the Tottenham midfielder.

Merson stated that Alli could be worth taking a risk on by Newcastle, who hopes to claw out of the relegation zone with the spending they’ll be doing this month following the takeover of their new owners, Public Investment Fund.

“[Alli] definitely worth a punt and could prove to be an inspired acquisition,” Merson said. “Dele’s talent isn’t in question, but he’s been out in the wilderness at Tottenham for far too long, and he needs to do something.”

“He could be an absolute hero at St James’ Park if he had the balls to take up the challenge. Anybody would make a difference, but Newcastle don’t want to be just signing someone who won’t play.”

Tottenham’s new manager Antonio Conte is still getting a feel for the players since he only came aboard two months ago, and perhaps he might think it’s too short of a time to decide on a player.

However, Alli might want to push for the loan move as he might want 90 minutes to impress Gareth Southgate and earn a spot on the England national team.

Conte walking puts Daniel in an untenable position. Let me rephrase that, it would do under any normal circumstances.

There is no strategy with Levy, only ENIC’s business model.

In the long term all we. An hope for is that Conte walks and the crowd turns on Levy. Daniel has so many head polishers on his firm he is oblivious of just what a useless Chmn he is..

Newcastle need hungry and focused players, so you can see why Howe would not be interested.

Apart from the fact Howe is already quoted as saying he’s not interested in Dele Alli,we can only hope a team is stupid enough to come in for him.Eddie Howe will presumably be looking for fighters to avoid relegation and Dele is definitely not that.

It’s worrying that nothing has been heard about Conte’s transfer stragedy meeting with Levy and Paratici.I suspect Levy is swanning about on Lewis’ boat totally oblivious of the transfer window being open.

Unfortunately this is the sort of stupid nonsense we have to put up with. When money needs spending he is nowhere to be seen, until perhaps January 30th.I doubt Conte is happy about being kept waiting.
