Passing Disaster: Serge Aurier Serves Up A Shambolic Display For Côte d’Ivoire

By The Boy -

Our man Serge Aurier played 96-minutes for the Côte d’Ivoire this week – who beat Madagascar by two goals to one in a Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

The Ivorian’s passing was pretty much an unmitigated fiasco all round; the general rule of thumb is that players in your backline tend to accrue high accuracy rate, because they are frequently in a position to work the ball out from the back unchallenged. Serge was just 4% shy of every ball he touched becoming 50/50 as to who received it.

In fact the further Serge was asked to kick a ball, the less accurate he was with it.

Looking at the bigger picture, the 27-year-old’s entire game was a series of disappointments. 45% total successful actions tells its own damning story.

Hopefully José Mourinho is aware of this shambolic performance and doesn’t pick the lad to play for Tottenham anytime soon. Who knows where his mind was, but he can’t play for Spurs like that. Poor.

The guy is a disaster area half the time and a very decent attacking wing back the other half of the time. Nothing in between.
