Giovani Lo Celso has earned another Argentina call-up for their matches during the next international break and some Tottenham fans are confused.
With their club struggling for form, the midfielder is one player who hasn’t contributed significantly to the team.
He was with the Argentina national team in the last international break and missed several matches for the Lilywhites because of quarantine.
Clubs could reach a compromise with the UK government to shorten quarantine time after the next international break, but what bothers some Spurs fans is why he keeps getting called up to his national team.
The midfielder is allegedly a top-class player, but he has not looked anywhere near one in a Tottenham shirt.
The club posted the news of his call-up and that of Cristian Romero on their Twitter account and their fans filled the comments with their reactions. Here are some:
Giovanni Lo Celso, part time Tottenham Hotspur player, full time Argentina player

Not news fans want to hear. They can't be relied upon for their club when they are needed.

Toodle pip
Lecture? You need lecturing, probably on how to walk in a straight line and how to clean your teeth…
😂
and Bell End Boy to make snide comments.
and west stand to lecture us all
A total shit show the whole organisation has become. Fak it let em go. Who cares anymore?
I had high hopes too, although to not consider the wider dysfunction at the club as a contributing factor would be unfair…
He and Tanguy sum up the utter shambles we’ve become. Anyway none of that matters, we’ve got boxing, Guns N’ Roses, and the NFL…
Part-time Spurs player is about right. He’s been carrying baggage from day one. If he’s not off on international duty he’s nursing a knock of some sort. Into his 3rd season and has never managed to put a run of games together, get rid along with that other flake Ndombele.
Lo Noshow.
I was one of his biggest fans when we signed him he was going to dominate m/f for Spurs.
Sick of the sight of him now (which isnt very often).
I don’t think Lo NoShow suits our league or style of football, he needs too much time on the ball. Lets face it the only reason we got him was because Levy thought he’d got a good deal. But as is usually the case he actually Levy’d himself. Fernandez was the player we should have gone for of course, but he cost too much for Levy who is unable to see the value in a better, established player, and make the right choice. Levy is reactionary over just the price or the deal breakdown, which is why we’re in such a mess.
You’d think after the last debacle that they might have the decency to stay put this time around. A gesture of goodwill would go a long way here I think.
I’d be happy to see him stay there… just ask him to take Winks with him…
