Paratici in talks with five clubs to add their players to the Tottenham squad

By Bruce Grove -

It is safe to say Tottenham’s summer transfer window is now in full swing as they close in on agreements for the likes of Bryan Gil and Pierluigi Gollini.

Fabio Paratici only started as the new football director at the start of this month and he has been moving fast to get the club ready for the upcoming campaign.

The deals for Gil and Gollini will be the first of the summer, but they won’t be the last.

The Athletic says he is currently in talks with at least five clubs to sign players on their books at the moment.

Strengthening the club’s defence is an important goal for them this season and because of that, they have been linked with a move for a number of defenders.

The report says Jules Kounde remains a target even though he has said he isn’t making the move to Spurs now.

Cristian Romero is another target who Paratici is actively trying to convince that he would be better off playing for Spurs, but his £34.5m valuations might be a problem.

Paratici has also held talks with Lyon over the signing of Joachim Andersen after his loan spell at Fulham last season.

They are also closing in on signing Takehiro Tomiyasu from Bologna and they have tabled a bid of around £12.9m.

Jannik Vestergaard is another player Paratici has considered signing, but the report says he might be too old for the Italian administrator.

He loves a nutmeg! Looks like a player that will get you off your feet. Maybe lacking a bit of end product but he’s still young so no alarm bells there. Even if we’re sh*t I’ll enjoy watching that kid when he gets the ball. On another note, has anyone sen Gollini’s highlights on YouTube? Hilarious 😂 I swear Harry Kane could’ve saved most of those efforts! COYS god have mercy on our soul next season 🙏🏽

He’s way better for selling more kits in Japan.

That’s crazy as if he has a good Olympics then other teams will come in for him and won’t mess around over a couple of mill either. Levy is his own worse enemy. Did he learn nothing from the Grealish disaster?

Anyone been watching the background vids on youtube for Bryan Gil? Most of them were picking him out around 3-4 months ago as being the next big thing from Spain. Got to say his abilities look outstanding, Messi-esque in many ways. His ball control and ability to feint to go round opponents looks outstanding, as does the use of both feet when taking players on, leaving them for dead. Also I think he’ll be the new nutmeg king at Spurs. He looks very quick and likes running at defenders. Could be a upgrade on Lamela. The tapes show a few assists and goals and all look high quality too. We might have a winner on our hands if he adapts to England.

It was widely reported at the outset that it wouldn’t be done till after (or the end of his involvement in) the Olympics?
& Mr. ‘tighter than a gnats chuff’ Levy is apparently still dithering on the £1-2m difference in Bologna’s valuation & his offer.

His ’10 minute best bits’ on YouTube is at least equal to if not better than all of Dier’s 39 matches combined last season!

Is Tomiyasu any better than Dier? That’s a big worry for me.

Takehiro seems to be taking ages so I naturally assume someone else will gazump us. Still all paper talk & used to excite us. GSig is the most high profile so far but won’t be the last.
