One player who might be regretting leaving Tottenham now

By Bruce Grove -

Christian Eriksen is probably regretting his move from Tottenham to Inter Milan now as he struggles to play for Antonio Conte’s men.

The Danish midfielder spent seven-and-half years at Tottenham before moving to Inter in January.

He made a fine start to his time with the Italians, however, his work rate didn’t impress his manager, according to Sun Sport and that prompted the Italians to move for Arturo Vidal.

The midfielder, who was one of the first names on the Tottenham team sheet, is now out of the first-team picture at Inter.

He has, however, told the club that he will not be content with spending time on the bench.

The report in the Sun also claimed that Eriksen is adamant that the club will be involved in many games this season and he expects to play most of those games.

If he doesn’t, he threatens that he might ask for a move away from Milan.

The midfielder declared as quoted by Sun Sports: “I don’t want to sit on the bench for the whole season.

“I hope this isn’t the coach’s or the club’s intention. It is going to be a busy season, a lot of games, I expect to play.

“It is never nice to sit on the bench and one tends to be less patient as his experience grows.

“There are many expectations on me, people thought I’d be the difference in every game, but it didn’t happen.

“That’s why they are looking at me with different eyes. I’ve had highs and lows after the lockdown.

“I had a great start with Inter after I arrived and now I am living in a new situation.”

Eriksen turned down Spurs’ offer to sign a new contract and he must be regretting that decision now.

This is what happens when a man gets above his station.
He got a move – eventually, after toys were expelled from his pram – to a club below the level he thought he deserved, and can’t get a game. He should be grateful. Barca or Real and he’d have been under a bus.
If he came back to us tomorrow he’d be warming the bench for the foreseeable.
Players don’t realise how good they’ve got it till they burn their bridges.
No sympathy whatsoever.

Levy originally had a plan for Eriksen, an eventual 60m + move to Madrid. Fact is that he should have done a deal for about 40m a couple of years ago. It’s just that the cheese tasing was of more importance at the time… 😂

The Poch haters won’t admit that he did very well to get a tune out of Eriksen as many times as he did. These people don’t know a great coach when they see one… blinkered.

Muscle memory conspiracy theory.

He stopped playing for us because he didn’t want to get injured.

And it never came back, because the Italians weren’t Real.

Always thought Poch squeezed the best out of him but he wasn’t ever consistent enough or imposing enough to be indispensable. A very frustrating player really.

Had Poch been backed, Eriksen would have been sold a couple of years ago. Levy was sniffing lifts though… 😂

The grass is not always greener, but he wasn’t offered market rate or a winning reason to stay. Walker was similar. At the moment, Walker can be justified in his decision. He got the money and medals and a whole host of women who work on a hourly rate. Eriksen just has the money. At least Jan Vertonghen is nowhere near!
