“Official, confirmed” – Two more Tottenham players leave, Romano has confirmed it

By Mehdi Gokal -

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the departure of two Tottenham defenders in Sergio Reguilon and Japhet Tanganga.

Both the players have been linked with a move away as Spurs focus on trimming their squad.

Japhet Tanganga has joined German club Augsburg on loan for the season while Sergio Reguilon has completed a loan move to rivals Manchester United.

Tanganga made his Tottenham debut in 2019 and has played 50 times for the club.

However, the academy product has found it difficult to break into the first team and has struggled for regular football.

Meanwhile Sergio Reguilon has received a surprise lifeline to continue in the Premier League with a move to Manchester United on loan.

Reguilon’s career has faced challenges since his loan spell at Atletico Madrid, where he struggled to impress due to injuries and a lack of trust from manager Diego Simeone.

The Spanish left-back also faced criticism from fans due to his past association with Real Madrid.

Since joining Spurs from Madrid for €30 million and enjoying a decent first season, he has not been able to impress previous managers like Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte.

Reguilon is very decent offensively and could turn out to be a decent signing for United who have just lost Luke Shaw to a long-term injury.

Tottenham are having a pretty decent end to their transfer window having agreed a deal for Brennan Johnson as well as managing to get rid of several players who were surprlus to requirements.

There could still be a couple of more outgoings before the transfer window shuts.
