Nottingham Forest To Rescue Jack Clarke From Leeds Limbo?

By The Boy -

Tottenham signed Jack Clarke from Leeds in the summer for a rumoured £8.5million, according to Sky Sports.

The 18-year-old was then immediately loaned back to Leeds, who promptly failed to offer the lad any game time.

The Sun ran an unhelpful headline early last month, branding Clarke a flop, and one that would have his loan at Elland Road cut short, as the Leeds boss Bielsa had no use for the boy.

The situation was more nuanced than Mike McGrath presented, and gaffer Marcelo was probably making the best decision for his own club’s business by focusing his efforts on players that actually had a future at United.

Now The Nottingham Post believe that Nottingham Forest might step in and offer Jack some meaningful minutes in the Championship.

It has been suggested that Clarke wasn’t a Poch pick, indeed the Spurs boss was pretty terse when asked about the kid’s progress in a recent press conference.

Hopefully a spell at Forest will shed more light on Jack Clarke’s future.

The rules are you can only play so many loaned players at each match… Its five i think.. And leeds have loads on loan. So young jacks found it hard due to that circumstance. Rumour i heard that forrest were going to loan him soon instead

Oh and those who haven’t been here before expecting a “shopping mall” will be very disappointed. Don’t tell the misses she can shop here unless she’s after sports stuff, grub&drinks.

Spladies tickets selling well. The Haringey community 300.000 (110.000 in tottenham) coming out. A lot of gooners in Haringey and that is Levy’s fault and arsen Wenger’s. Arsenals ladies will have a lot of support too. Will be good. Get here if you can and bring the family. COYSL

Never underestimate levy’s ability to sack a coach to deflect from his own failings. Or many fans’ ability to go along with it and cheer enic for turning somebody else into the fall guy.

I think Bielsa’s only interest is winning football matches and getting promoted into the PL before he gets fired. He is using five other short-term loanees to that end.

I vividly recall Everton (who dodged that bullet) were on the verge of signing Sissy but minutes before the end of the transfer window Sissy chose Spurs!

Poch wanted those players as his first choices? Plus, what’s wrong with Ndombele? Needs to adjust to the league but he looks like he’s going to be great.

Aurier isn’t up to it, Sissy does a job but neither were Poch’s first picks anyway…

True but in a results driven game with the owners naturally concerned about the looming spectre of relegation unless you can personally mount a successful takeover bid managers are fired but ENIC remains!

I’d rather keep a manager proven to deliver over 5 seasons with a comparatively meagre budged compared to his rivals rather than sack him.

Woolwich actually have a manager that has done nothing for them, despite your (yet again) awful prediction that they would be ‘resurgent’ this season. Their captain is booed off their own fans, disgraceful state of affairs really.

If Spurs are ‘free falling’ Woolwich are half way down the toilet bowl and on their way to the Championship…

If Poch is sacked then it would confirm what we already know. That ENIC don’t know about or care about football…

East Stand
East Stand

The Torygraph going with the headline ‘Time Running Out For Poch’.

It also goes onto say that Poch is considered one of the best in the business and that he would have many suitors. It would also cost Levy/ENIC 12m to sack him.

Why would you sack a sought after manager at a cost of 12m after his first poor run in 5 seasons? When you also know you haven’t backed him properly?

Please explain…

Repeating the immortal words of Winston Churchill “This is not the end. It is not even the beginning [of the project!!]. but it is perhaps, the end of the beginning”.

I see the DT is reporting that Poch is heading towards the point of no return at Spurs as fears grow that he will not be able to salvage their season.

The West Ham United game immediately after the international break is now rated as make or break for Tottenham’s campaign, and could even prove decisive for the manager himself.
….. Win and we presumably simply prolong the agony until the next defeat!
Happy Days!

Really we shouldn’t even be discussing the future of this boy, so he’s a prospect, let him develop wherever he needs to.

“Get him in now, better than what we have, put him in ahead of Dele, sack Poch, start Moura ( we did at Everton and he did very little btw).” These are the musings of the deluded, the hoodwinked that ENIC have sucked in for almost 2 decades.

Poch has won nothing in 5 seasons but elevated the 7th wage bill to top 4 and a C.L final.

ENIC have one League Cup in 08 to boast about.

ENIC OUT.
