Ndombele’s Agent Possibly Lining Up Meetings To Trigger Spurs Exit

By Joe Fish -

Paris Saint-Germain have made contact with Tanguy Ndombele’s camp amid uncertainty about his Tottenham future, according to Foot Mercato.

The reports from France understand that PSG suspect Jose Mourinho would be willing to sell the midfielder who he has been publicly critical of.

Foot Mercato adds that a meeting between PSG and Ndombele’s agent – over Skype presumably – is being set up for the coming weeks and that the Ligue 1 champions are optimistic that they can get a deal done with Spurs.

Ndombele’s agent must be playing the field somewhat as Mundo Deportivo reported earlier this week that Barcelona were in for the 23-year-old.

He may be looking for an early escape from Spurs but I doubt he’ll get one.

Even if Mourinho would be prepared to axe Ndombele, Daniel Levy won’t be. The chairman has invested a club-record £53.8m on the Frenchman, according to BBC Sport, and will be determined to get a return on that.

Mourinho won’t be able to simply dump £50m players and replace them with another £50m player like he could at Chelsea or Manchester United. He is stuck with Ndombele for at least next season, whether he likes it or not.

So this rumoured meeting will serve no more purpose than curing quarantine boredom.
