“My aim is to go back to Spurs and try to break into that team” Forgotten man eyeing Tottenham place next season

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham loanee Ryan Sessegnon is eyeing a place in Jose Mourinho’s side next season.

The English youngster joined the likes of Jude Bellingham and Jadon Sancho in the Bundesliga this season after joining Hoffenheim on loan until the end of the campaign.

He had struggled for playing time at Spurs, with Mourinho trusting just the experienced heads to do a job for him.

He has been in good shape at the small-town club and has been getting the minutes that his talent deserves.

He recently spoke about English players moving to Germany for more playing time and claimed that he is committed to earning a place in the Spurs team.

If he, however, still cannot break into the team under the Special One, he would not hesitate to leave the club for another spell in a foreign country again.

He also encouraged more Englishmen to try out other European leagues and be open to new cultures and adventures.

Sessegnon said via Standard Sports: “English clubs need to be prepared. If they are not prepared to play their young players, then there will be German clubs like Hoffenheim to come in, take them on loan.

“They are prepared to play them in the first team straight away and gain that experience.

“Obviously if they come back to their English clubs and they decide they’re still not ready, they need to be prepared for an offer from a German club to come and get them. Definitely.

“My aim is to go back to Spurs and try to break into that team and play and make myself a figure in the team. But if that’s not going to be possible next season or in the future, of course I want to go back to a league or a club to regain that experience.

“I would say to any young player to go and try it out. Try a different culture, a different league, a different language and don’t be afraid because it is a great opportunity.”

I like his attitude, not easy to move abroad. A real talent, let’s hope he can develop his skill set, find consistency and get into the first team here.
