Mourinho’s Latest Quotes Sound Desperately All Too Familiar
By Harry Hotspur -

PA Sport’s Jonathan Veal has the latest quotes from Mourinho and whilst the winter window has barely got underway, and it would be a tad previous to jump down the Portuguese’s throat, my gut instinct is, we’ve been here before. When asked about this winter window – “I’m not expecting”.

The simple rationale is that a present Tottenham are haemorrhaging cash out the door via the squad salary bill and to continue to do so is straightforwardly nuts. Where’s the money going then?

Gareth Bale (£250,0000-pwk) has not been an inspirational loan deal for Spurs. Off the pace and a heavy sneeze away from injury was the worst-case-scenario and that would appear to have been the way things have panned out. If the 31-year-old is out of action for a few weeks at New Year, what precisely might the world’s biggest optimist expect to happen between now and summer? Did Levy even manage to get a break clause?

Danny Rose is taking £60,000-pwk. Dele Alli is surely another lost cause, and the 24-year-old is on £100,000-pwk. Beyond these horror numbers, we have whatever Gedson Fernandes and Carlos Vicinius are pulling in. This is the wrong end of half a million pounds a week. How on Earth can THFC just sit back and suffer such extraordinary losses, let alone in the midst of a pandemic?!

How far away are we from ‘berry happy?’

Few of the teams looking tired. Villa and Everton certainly. This season seems even more stacked in favor of the bigger squads than ever.

Pochs salary and his staff salary is coming off the books. That could be seven or eight million saved. They could sell or loan Dele if they were that hard up but show no sign of doing that.
Gedson and Rose will be gone soon, the TV money is still there, the club took out a Government loan of £100 million. Next season could see grounds being almost full again. Not all doom.

Currently spared derision from empty stadiums surely once our stadium is full our fans will quickly react to our turgid stuff!!

Not if we’re winning. We’ll be back to winning ways soon. Most fans will realise we won’t be playing like this forever. Next season different style

Based on what? Jose has always played a predominantly defensive counterattack style. If we’re winning it will be accepted by most but there will not be a differently style.

Based on all his clubs.. He ‘predominately’ started off with a high press at porto. He has switched it up at chelsea, inter and madrid. This is why he’s won so much, he’s highly adaptable.. He plays to his players strengths. Uses his tools at his disposal the most efficient and best way he can..

Only saw the stadium from the outside, walked around it one evening. I was due to go to the home game the week Arteta had Covid and everything went pear shaped, happier days coming let’s hope.

I said Bale would be lucky to make 15 starts this season. So far 11 apps and of those only ONE start in the Prem with 6 starts in tin pot Europa and 1 in Lge cup. Hes now on injury list again. Itll probably work out around a million quid a start. Expensive stuff nostalgia. Will shirt sales cover that?

I did a quick calculation on this last week in my head and my answer was no even at a hundred quid for the elite shirt.

At least Danny’s time will be up soon and 3 of them are only loans..we need to be even more savvy in these hard times not pissing 250k a week on nostalgia
