Mourinho will be happy with what Southgate plans to do with Kane

By Bruce Grove -

Jose Mourinho has always been worried about the workload that Harry Kane has to carry on his shoulder when the striker joins up with the England national team.

The Special One knows the striker is one of the best players in the world and needs to be protected.

If given the chance, Mourinho would like to see Kane rested against easy international opponents so his best player can stay fit for the season finale.

The latest plans that Gareth Southgate has for the striker would delight the Spurs boss then.

Mail Sport reports that the striker is keen to play in as many international matches as possible because he is chasing Wayne Rooney’s England goals record.

However, Southgate is keen to manage his minutes and the coach will prioritise his welfare in the coming matches.

The Three Lions will face San Marino and Albania this weekend, these are two of the easiest opponents to face and will help Kane boost his international goals tally.

However, the report says Southgate might consider the opponents too easy to face and rest Kane instead.

After those two, England faces Poland next week and the striker would be called upon for that match.

The attacker will, however, prefer to face these softer opponents knowing that he is almost certain to score against them.

Give him 90 mins against San Marino, or 45 mins against both…. From Spurs point of view, we don’t want him playing at all.
