Mourinho to make Dele Alli decision ahead of Liverpool match

By Bruce Grove -

Dele Alli has been sidelined from the Tottenham team for much of this season after he made a poor start to the campaign.

Coming into this season to win a trophy, Jose Mourinho wasn’t impressed by Alli’s performance in Spurs’ first league game of the season against Everton and he dropped the Englishman at half time.

Alli has struggled to play since then, but he has been showing signs of improved form in his cameo appearances recently and Football London says that Mourinho has a decision to make about including him in the squad against Liverpool.

The Special One surprisingly named three defenders on the bench in the game against Crystal Palace, leaving out Gareth Bale, who later turned out to be ill, and Carlos Vinicius.

The report says Alli impressed in the short time that he played against Palace after he was introduced into the game with 5 minutes left to play.

He won a free-kick that Eric Dier nearly scored a winner from. That came after he had brilliantly tracked back to tackle Eberechi Eze in the Tottenham half.

Mourinho has said that Alli has to earn his place back in the team and the report seems to suggest that the Englishman might be in the team to face the Premier League champions.

Back to the double block with Hojbjerg and Sissoko is more than likely. Dele is a player for lesser games, but he only got 10 mins v Palace so how less can he go!
