Dele Alli is lucky he is not on his way to the hospital right now.
The Tottenham midfielder was caught nastily by a studs-up tackle from Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling – a potential ankle-breaker.
Here is the tackle. It doesn’t look much at first glance but the replay shows just how dangerous it was.

Referee Mike Dean showed Sterling yellow but upon another look it seemed a definite candidate for VAR. This was Jose Mourinho’s reaction when the decision was not upgraded to a red – hands on his head in disbelief.
