Tottenham are reportedly looking to secure Oliver Skipp’s long-term future by offering him a new contract.
The 19-year-old has gradually worked his way into the first-team picture at Spurs and has made nine appearances so far this season.
After earning plaudits from boss Jose Mourinho for his display against Norwich City in the FA Cup in midweek, The Sun, via Football Insider, report that Skipp is set to be offered new terms.
It’s added that along with Japhet Tanganga and Troy Parrott, the trio of talented youngsters could be viewed as a key part of Tottenham’s long-term plan.
Further, it’s noted in the report above that Skipp’s current deal expires in 2021, and so Spurs will no doubt want to avoid a scenario where his contract begins to run down with the threat of an exit looming.
With Moussa Sissoko out injured and Victor Wanyama on his way to Montreal Impact, as per the club’s statement, it appears as though there could be an opportunity opening up for Skipp to establish himself in the Tottenham line-up in the coming years.
