After getting both Oliver Skipp and Eric Dier to sign new long-term deals, Spurs are set to sign breakthrough star, Japhet Tanganga on to a new deal as well.
The young Englishman is a homegrown talent, and he has been one of the positives of Jose Mourinho’s time at the club.
He made his Premier League debut against Liverpool earlier in the year and he has continued to prove to be a valuable member of the first team.
He hasn’t featured since the restart because he was injured when the league campaign restarted, and Mourinho has already gotten some momentum with the other players now that he is fit to play, so he has been on the bench.
However, Tanganga remains an important part of the Portuguese’s plan going into the future and he wants to keep him.
He has been in talks with the club over a new deal that would significantly boost his current £1k per week wages, and Standard Sports reports that an agreement between him and the club is close to being reached and it could be announced soon.
The defender is one happy member of the team and he recently spoke about remaining at the club for the rest of his life.
“This club is fantastic, the staff, the coaches, everyone has just helped me. The club means a lot to me, having been with them for so long,” he said in January as quoted in the Standard.
“Of course I’d love to stay with them as long as I could and go on until I retire. But that’s for the club to deal with me and for me to focus on the pitch and deliver as much as I possibly can.”
Good news
£15k a week for tangan and £10k a week to his parents to hold for him.
Good stuff. Hope he gets alot more than 15k a week that was reported……. Ndombele should be given that 15k a week contract.
The future right there.
Ledley Mk2 without the knees please.
