“Mind at Tottenham” – Player’s poor performance attributed to his failed move to Spurs

Victor Nelsson has been linked with a move to Tottenham since a long time.

Turkish reports previously claimed that the Galatasaray vice president Erden Timur traveled to London to negotiate several deals including one for Nelsson.

The player has a release clause of £21.5m but Tottenham are only willing to match that.

It was last stated by Turkish outlet Sabah that Spurs were willing to offer Galatasaray £12.9 plus Davinson Sanchez in a cash plus player deal.

The latest from Sahab states that Galatasaray rejected that offer.

Since then Spurs have gone to agree a deal for the defender with Spartak Moscow. But the move is not likely to happen since the player is not keen on joining them.

Now, according to Sabah, Victor Nelsson has been criticised for his poor performance against Zalgiris Vilnius, with manager Okan Buruk stating that it was the worst game of his life.

The report titled ‘Nelson’s mind at Tottenham’ claims that the reason for his poor display was because the club did not accept the offer from Tottenham.

It adds that the player’s mind was set on a move to the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur.

The report goes on to defend the player’s performance suggesting that anybody can have a bad day. It also condemns the manager’s statement and the fans reaction towards the player for wanting a move.

Spurs continue to be in hunt for centre-backs and perhaps after Davinson Sanchez’s refusal to join Spartak Moscow, another attempt could be made to include him in an improved cash plus player deal.
