Michael Dawson Has A Masterplan For Spurs | video

By The Boy -

Back to square one? That’s optimistic Micah. All the players are getting older by the day and our elite players will be down the road if they have any sense. That’s square minus two, at least.

Michael Dawson’s solution is to bring in Scott Parker.

The problem Daniel Levy has is that there’s so much egg on his face right now, he probably falls asleep dreading having to wake up again in the morning.

£600million worth of debt, and a football team that only Jamie Redknapp rates that bumble around in – to no good purpose.

Shazam.

I’ve got it.

Forget Scott Parker. Install Redknapp Jnr!

That’s the trouble! A lot of teams look like they are one of the best teams when they are having a particularly good spell and some others are struggling to perhaps find their normal form. We looked mightily impressive, for instance, when we were giving Man Utd a right going over in their own backyard.

We did seem to have some genuine promise then. How much did that debacle against West Ham where we lost a three goal lead in the last eight minutes affect both our players and the manager? I suspect against United, we just had one of those days when everyone was at their best and United the opposite!

You didn’t think Mourinho was a busted flush when you were keen to have Spurs appoint him,my friend, when I was telling you that I thought the Portuguese’s best days were probably behind him.

Hoddle, incidentally, defending Jose’s record at Man Utd, where in two full seasons he did win trophies (albeit, minor ones in my view) and finished runners up to Man City in the league. He doesn’t think Spurs should have sacked him and that he wasn’t given sufficient time to build anything.

Yes, I read that about Rodgers, too. Sensible on his part. Hoddle reckons we need a complete rebuild and we are unlikely to fork out to do so. Like I do, he hears people saying what a great squad Spurs have got but – like me..and most of us on this website, I imagine – can’t understand where people are coming from with these remarks and that in reality we have lots of average players nowhere good enough for the Champions League.

With Martinez, the football will be entertaining, that’s for sure, but none of his teams can defend for toffee. Even Belgium, who knock over all the teams they play in qualifiers – when they come under little pressure defensively – but in finals are not beyond being ripped apart by the likes of Wales!

Why is nobody talking about Roberto Martinez for the job? Wouldnt cost the earth and probably available post Euros, his teams play possession football ie the spurs way and he’s got the best out of squads with limited ability like Swansea and Wigan

This is what Brendan Rodgers said after turning down Spurs invite for management last time:

“A close shave,” he said.
“They are a great club and one of the things I looked at was their history.
“They’d had 11 managers in 18 years there, so for someone like myself, who needed to create something, I needed to go to a club that was going to give that opportunity.”

I’m sure he feels safe that Levy has matured and won’t kick him out 1.5 years later just before another cup final, if he accepted this time.

Purely talking the players here, but It’s alarmingly obvious that looking at them yesterday that they are completely shot of confidence following the defeat. As much as I admire Ryan Mason for taking on an impossible job, to me it’s going to take a real man manager to sort out the problems the team has, both mentally with regard to confidence and tactically regarding playing systems.
I like Scotty but this job needs a true motivator and tactician and I don’t see anyone better than Rodgers for this huge job, it’s crucial to get the appointment right like never before, so Rodgers it has to be.

I’m not completely adverse to Scotty P, but the problem is Fulham are getting relegated. They have been unlucky in a lot of games, notably Spurs twice but i just feel he would have had more chance of Spurs job if he’d have kept Fulham up.
There was a spell where Fulham looked like one of the best teams in the league and perhaps just fell short of survival due to limited depth of squad.
At least he’d be straight talking and he’s not afraid to go against the company line.

Having adapted well to the pressures of management the fact that intelligent articulate Parker is seemingly not a confrontational divisive character busted flush surely is a huge positive?!!

100% commitment demanded from the players is what got Jose sacked!

What will he bring to the party? – A passionate feisty never say die attitude of 100% commitment demanded from his players that he performed himself with exemplary distinction on the pitch!! Yes having been an ex Spurs player with many friends at the club and familiar with the environment I am fairly confident he would take the job.

What will he bring to the party? Would he want the job? The dross needs selling first.
