Media already being negative over Gareth Bale joining Tottenham

By Bruce Grove -

Gareth Bale is set to return to Tottenham this summer as the Lilywhites close in on a deal to bring him back on loan.

He left the north London side in 2013 but he is set to make a sensational return seven years later.

Jose Mourinho is keen to have him as a part of his first-team at the Tottenham Stadium, but there is already some scepticism surrounding his return.

ESPN is reporting that Mourinho has reached out to some of his associates at the Spanish team to know why Bale is struggling to play under Zinedine Zidane and they have told him that the Welsh attacker is not a consistent performer.

They have warned him to proceed with caution and to expect him to struggle when he joins Spurs.

The report also claims that these friends of Mourinho have told him that the Welsh wizard will struggle with the physicality of the Premier League.

Bale remains a big game player at Madrid, but Zidane is trying to build his team around a few set of players and Bale isn’t one of them.

Despite the negativity from ESPN, a return to the Premier League might be best for Bale and it seems likely to happen as both teams have already entered talks.

Mourinho wants to win a trophy for Spurs this season and one player who can almost guarantee that is Bale.

Maybe. But many has also failed, even with big squads filled with star players (Man City and PSG comes to mind). Now I don´t think Zidane is all that, but he has won a lot of titles. His relationship with Bale is a strange one.
What I have seen of Reguilon is top class indeed. I believe RM still have Marcelo as their first choice and that French guy they bought for 40-50 mill as back up. Perfect for them to sell Reguilon with a buyback clause

Many other managers could have won those trophies with that squad! His judgement seems a bit strange letting the top LB in La Liga last season leave?

He only started that when they started on him. I know he was/is on big money but he more than paid them back with the winning goals he scored. He’s coming back to spurs because he knows he. Will get the adulation he deserves!!!!

The futures bright cush. Its looking good. Don’t bother with the past mate like some. Keep it moving forward with the rest of the sensibles. The future is where all the joys lies. 👍🌚

the comment is referencing how fucking good sterling is, and despite being smaller he shatters the narrative of the “physical” prem. nothing to see here for the thin-skinned

We need players, of that there is no doubt. This all should have been addressed last summer, especially after 12 months of signing nobody.

Another is that we are doing great transfer business. Doherty, Reguilon and Bale… Actually strengthening for the first time since Paul Mitchell left. All three fly straight into the starting line up.

Sterlings short but stocky and strong. He rarely gets bullied or pushed off the ball are the facts…. Harry winks and Tom Carroll are little squirts..

Fair point. And I would love Bale to come, guns blazing. But he only started one game after the turn of the year. I mean there are a couple of signs that are a little worrying. Hope I´m wrong though

Possibly strongly influenced by the fact that Bale’s antics have hardly endeared himself to the RM fans. Clearly once they turn on a player his days are numbered!

A French headbanger with more CL trophies than f. ex. Man United have in their entire history as a club. He knows a thing or two about winning, is all. And he doesn´t want Bale near his team… for some reason or another

Having been a victim of racist abuse playing for England surely his performances for both club and country deserves higher recognition than aiming a cheap insult at Sterling!

One positive thing is that, mysteriously enough, his ears don’t stick out as much as they once did!

Struggle with the physicality of the Premier league? lol Makes you wonder how squirts like sterling haven’t been put in a wheelchair if it’s so tough….
