Breaking: Mauricio Pochettino Declines Benfica Job “He wants a challenge that will motivate him”

By The Boy -

Breaking news from Portugal, where Record report that former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has apparently said thanks, but no thanks to the Portuguese giants, Benfica.

The Argentine has reportedly told the press that he wants a challenge that moves him (which makes sense) but added an interesting postscript; “the English league enchants him, but he is ready to train elsewhere if the project attracts him.”

This is clearly a not very heavily coded message to other suitors that the 48-year-old is not wedded to the Premier League, despite still residing in London.

Pochettino’s stock will remain high despite his lack of tangible success at Spurs, especially given the teething problems that Jose Mourinho has encountered. After all, if The Special One can’t do your job better than you, that has to reflect well, right?

Pochettino needs to pick the right project for himself and for his coaching staff, a wrong step at this stage and his value would naturally plummet.

That’s good then, you can spend less time slagging off fellow supporters in that case. See ya busy guy.

You want to get on here judging and questioning people and how they qualify as ‘real’ fans compared to you? You don’t know other people and what they feel about anything. Best to leave it I reckon and just do your thing, judging with no evidence? It’s poor form for any ‘fan’…

You’re gonna regret this part of your weak fan journey when you’re older. Community tickets by the way, I’m part of the community. (Broard water farm residents association). 90s? I’m always behind my team and yes the seats are nice in the south stand, not many sit down though. I’m a couch man at home myself. “Nothing else to do? I live in London.

You started replying to my comments because you’ve nothing else to do. You’re just looking for an argument, telling everyone what a ‘better’ fan than everyone else you think you are, with your freebie tickets. Where were you in the 90’s, 00’s, home and Away? Nah, didn’t think so… nice armchairs at the new gaff, they suit you.

You can be up at the top table trying to win the big prizes, going up against the best and mixing it up in the hope you’ll get there in the end. Or there’s the League Cup… a lovely shiny wooden spoon for ya, wot a Championship club even won a few years back.

Nobody’s really bothered about that twaddle after Champions League finals etc. “Nice day out at Wembley” Not as nice as beating Real Madrid at Wembley under Poch though is it, it’s called the big time…

Jose is winning naff all at Spurs. He’s a money manager from a bygone era. You’re the one who needs to wobble his nut about a bit, you just might wake up in 2020! 😂

‘Tangible success’ for Spurs was playing in the Champions League every season, getting to the final, finishing above the c**nts down the road etc. The League Cup would be more tangible I take it?

As I am a long time spurs supporter I have suffered all the so called excellent manager’s the only one in recent years was poch that actually got us playing like a team who wanted to win ,but a certain man name D Levy and co will kill us .No ambition to scared to spend and give the manager the money to buy its not like we have not got it ,we are owned by a billionaire. Take a page out of man united, Chelsea,by a giving the young players a chance,or buy the ones we need like Fernandez at mam u,he was supposed to come to us but Mr levy tried to play hard ball and lost him to them and look what he’s done for them imagine him and celso running the midfield if only, please come back pock we will never win with so called special one,no one else would offer or employ him .

The problem with your logic is that Poch has taken us as far as he could. Our football before and after the CL was and has been dismal.

Missed transfer windows to which Poch was complicit was the downfall of finishing anywhere near the top 4

Ok, have it your way. When we get relegated next season, it’ll be on you lot for putting up with this shower. I guarantee mourinho will win us nothing. I actually preferred challenging for the title and making champions league 4 seasons in a row. But must be my mistake.

The special one, who’s won more than any Spurs manager ever. Managing a team who have been hand picked by the chairman and previous manager.

Give your head a wobble lad. Poch did some great things. Problem is he won nothing

Why would he? He knew how mu€h and what he was walking into that’s why him and levy are still kool. Levy made him a much richer man and he’ll never forget it. We put him on the map. My club doesn’t owe poch $h!£

Keith b. Terry Venables. Ramos and raincoat man are all in the history books as winners. Poch ain’t so that must make him a loser right?

Well he took us, more or less, a midtable club through the 90s and 2000s to the brink of the champions league and for the most part, achieved more than any other manager since keith burkinshaw. That good enough for you or you happy to continue to be served up this dross by the so called ‘special one’.

Would have thought Benfica would be ideal. For a manager with no pedigree in winning I’m not sure where HE thinks his next role should be.

How about coming back to Spurs and throttling Levy with his bare hands, that’ll make him feel better, and us.
