‘Many people don’t know the man’ – Conte discusses the first impression a Tottenham star made on him

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur is beginning preparations for the 2022-23 season, and with their summer transfer window thus far, there are plenty of high hopes for the north London club.

However, they will go as far as their two star players, Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, can take them in. Both players are the heart of their attack, and Son is coming off a season where he shared the Premier League Golden Boot with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.

As part of a club documentary on Conte’s first 202 days as the Tottenham boss, the Italian tactician discussed what makes Son such an asset to his team. The 52-year-old highlighted the South Korea international’s traits that stood out to him.

“For every manager, if you want to win, you need players of great talent,” Conte said, whose words were relayed by Yahoo! Sports. “Sonny impressed me for the commitment, for the attitude, for the behavior – he is a really good guy.”

“But I think many people don’t know the man, the person that you find in Sonny. He always has a smile on his face. For sure, he is a positive person. He is an important player for Tottenham. Every manager dreams of having this type of talent in your hands.”

Son will be looking to follow up his 24-goal Premier League season with even better performance, considering the squad is attempting to challenge for silverware and will be competing in UEFA Champions League football.

Furthermore, the 29-year-old will have more goal-scoring support with the arrival of Richarlison from Everton.
