Manager of Tottenham target reluctantly admits money will determine if player is sold

By Bruce Grove -

As the transfer window approaches, teams around the world have already started identifying players that they would like to add to their squad.

Tottenham will no doubt add a few players as Jose Mourinho plots to win the Europa League among other trophies next season.

The Portuguese manager is one of the most successful managers in world football, but he knows that he will also have to work with some of the best players to be able to win titles.

Several players have been linked with a move to Spurs this summer and one name that has been linked with a move to the Tottenham Stadium is Celtic’s Kristoffer Ajer (GivemeSport).

Tottenham hopes of landing the Norwegian have been boosted because his manager has admitted that every member of his team has a price.

Neil Lennon has just led Celtic to another league title, and he will be plotting yet another triumph when the Scottish league season gets underway again.

Naturally, teams want to keep hold of their best players for as long as they can, but Lennon has admitted that every one of his players has a price tag.

Lennon said as quoted by Sun Sports: “It is difficult to say, particularly in this climate currently, that a player is not going anywhere, because everyone has a price.

“Ideally we don’t want to sell our best players and we will remain steadfast on that.

“But if an offer comes in then I’m sure the club will consider it and do the best thing possible for the club going forward.

“But it’s not just hard for me, it’s hard for all managers right now.

“It will be interesting to see how the market opens up.

“You just don’t know. The English Premier League is not finished yet but when they do they will be starting to look around.

“It might speed up before the new season starts but at the minute we have had no enquiries for any of our players. Nothing at all.”

That sounds to me like Lennon is expecting offers to start rolling in once the Premier League season concludes and the prospect of Ajer making his way to North London cannot be dismissed.

Wanyama did okay as well for a couple of season playing alongside Dembele.Arsenal’s Kieran Tierney starting to look good on the left.

Exactly. We of all clubs should have respect for Scottish football, since we had Dave Mackay, John White and Bill Brown. Alan Gilzean, John Duncan., Richard Hay.

Don’t dismiss the Scottish Premier League, that’s where Virgil Van Dijk came from and Moussa Dembele from Celtic to Lyon whom Man United are tracking. Celtics Odsonne Eduoard is very highly rated. Then you have Andy Robertson and that lad Gilmour at Chelsea. After about twenty years in the doldrums Scottish football seems to be producing fine footballers again.

Virgil Van Dijk did alright or would you prefer we let Southampton buy him and sell him to us for £75m in a year or two’s time. Wanyama wasn’t bad either. Edouard is a fantastic young striker the sort we could do with.Kieran Terniey has looked the part at Arsenal as well,Celtic have some talent over the seasons.
