Manager of Tottenham target gives his opinion over a potential move

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham has been linked with a move for several strikers in this transfer window as they look to end their reliance on only Harry Kane for goals.

The likes of Callum Wilson and Victor Osimhen had been linked with a move to the Tottenham Stadium, but they have joined other teams and their options keep shrinking.

Spurs have recently been linked with a move for Southampton’s Danny Ings, but the Saints have turned them down and made it clear that the former Liverpool striker isn’t going anywhere, anytime soon.

Sometimes when players attract the attention of top sides, they might try to force through the move, but that will not be the case for Ings whose manager, Ralph Hasenhuttl isn’t worried that he may have had his head turned by a move to Tottenham.

Spurs face The Saints this weekend and Hasenhuttl claims that he doesn’t expect Ings to force a move because he has already experienced being at a top club and not playing.

The Austrian said via The Sun: “He knows what he has with us.

“He was at one time at a big club. He knows how good it feels to play every week, every game and to be in a team where everybody loves him.

“This crowd is loving him. It’s something you don’t have very often.

“He made also from here the step to the international squad, so what else do you want?

“It’s also possible from Southampton to play internationals for England, to come maybe to the next Euros.

“It’s up to him to show up again and we will do everything we can to bring him in the right position.”

I think too many players have seen what happens to the likes of Berahino, Schneiderlein etc. to fall for tapping up from Levy any more. Grealish too but he has dealt with it pretty well. Besides we couldn’t afford Inngs now, he’s out of our price bracket. I don’t really see many quality options left in the market now tbh. We’ll probably end up with some 2nd rate striker on deadline day like Deeney. Mou will be pleased.
