Manager makes admission about Spurs transfer target – bid expected ‘in the coming days’

Multiple reports have emerged over the last 24 hours that suggests a Tottenham offer for Gent striker Gift Orban is imminent.

Evening Standard’s Dan Kilpatrick earlier today claimed that Tottenham are expected make a formal move for the player before the transfer window shuts.

And Caughtoffside made a similar claim stating that Tottenham may make a formal move for Orban ‘in the coming days’.

Gent manager Hein Vanhaezebrouck has now admitted that the club could be forced to sell the striker for financial reasons as they will need cash to strengthen their squad enough to remain competitive.

Vanhaezebrouck told Het Laatste Nieuws via Foot News:

“Is it impossible to keep Orban? No, it’s not impossible. He doesn’t have to leave and maybe he will stay. But I can’t project myself into the future”

“To say that we will go far if we keep Gift on board is not realistic. Our next opponent, Westerlo, has already bought for 13.5 million euros this summer. Gent for 5 million. Westerlo has sold for 0 million, we sold for 12 million. That says it all. The landscape of football is changing.”

Gift Orban would no doubt be an excellent signing for Tottenham. Last season he scored 20 goals and assisted 2 in 22 appearances and this season he has continued his fine form. He has already scored 5 goals in 4 games across all competitions.

If Tottenham manages to secure the signing of Gift Orban, they would acquire a highly rated young striker with a proven ability to find the back of the net.

Such a signing could significantly bolster Tottenham’s attacking options and provide them with a promising talent for the future.
