Forbes is claiming that Manchester United believe Tottenham will eventually sign Spanish left-back Sergio Reguilon.
The Spaniard plays for Real Madrid, but he is behind both Marcelo and Ferland Mendy. Because of this, he was sent out on loan to Sevilla last season.
He was one of their standout performers as they finished the campaign in a Champions League spot and they also won the Europa League, beating Manchester United in the semi-final.
He is available for transfer this summer, United and Tottenham are two top English teams who are looking to sign him.
The Red Devils have been splashing the cash in recent transfer windows, but the report claims that they are ok with their current left-back options – Brandon Williams and Luke Shaw.
They also think that their name is being mentioned in the Reguilon rumour mill just to drive up interest in the player.
They expect that he will eventually join up with Jose Mourinho at the Tottenham Stadium.
Spurs have had a busy transfer window, but more activity is expected from them before the window closes in October.
They are looking to sell Danny Rose in this transfer window and that will leave them with Ben Davies as the only recognizable top left-back at the club.

Not sure on this one. I think José may be looking at Davies and Sess as his LB options which is really quite scary. Davies is bang average and gives us no forward momentum down the left flank and Sess is still unproven at this level. Great to see us starting the season once again without the required additions.
Yeah, best to see if Bruce Grove is the author – he clearly has a remit to churn the clickbait and regurgitate the same story twice a week.
Fair enough though, I don’t begrudge Harry earning a few advertising shekels.
The article states that manure are happy with their left-backs, and that they believe that Reguilon being linked to them is simply to raise the price; but the headline states that manure “accept defeat” for his signature.
You know, sometimes I come on here and feel that I’m being talked down to for the sake of a click. It’s quite patronising. It’s the reason why I stopped looking at newsnow several years ago.
