Jose Mourinho emphasised the importance of Paulo Gazzaniga’s contribution in yesterday’s 2-1 win at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Gazzaniga made a crucial one-handed save to keep out a Romain Saiss header at 1-1, before Jan Vertonghen won it for us in stoppage time.

Describing the save as a “magic hand” at his post-match press conference, Gazzaniga’s intervention led Mourinho to reflect on something that his father, a former professional goalkeeper who once played at Molineux himself, taught him about the art of wearing the gloves in a top side.

A report from Football Insider this week claimed that Mourinho has been impressed with Gazzaniga and wants him offered an improved contract.
