“Liverpool could be in trouble against Tottenham” Spurs tipped to compound Liverpool’s misery

By Bruce Grove -

Steve McManaman is worried that Liverpool will be beaten by Tottenham when they next play in the Premier League.

The Reds have been on a poor run of form that has seen them lose their unbeaten home record, which stood since 2017.

Burnley beat them 1-0 at Anfield yesterday in another sorry night for the struggling champions who are now winless in 5 league games.

They will face Manchester United in the FA Cup next, but that game would be followed by a trip to Tottenham for a Premier League fixture that they must win.

Liverpool’s once-feared front three are now toothless and they even benched Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah for the Clarets game.

The win was a typical Burnley victory, with Sean Dyche’s men sitting deep and soaking up pressure from the Reds before hitting them on the counter.

In one of those counterattacks, Alisson Becker fouled Ashley Barnes, who dusted himself off to score the ensuing penalty.

McManaman believes that there is a similarity between Burnley’s style of play and that of Tottenham and tips Spurs to inflict more losses on Liverpool.

McManaman said on Premier League TV after the Burnley loss: “The way the opposition are playing is the way that Tottenham play.

“Less possession, sit back, know Liverpool’s weaknesses, and hit them on the counter, with better players than West Brom and teams that Liverpool have failed to beat.

“So, that’s why you think Liverpool could be in trouble against Tottenham.

“Liverpool will have more possession, even away from home, but Tottenham will be more decisive than Fulham were on the counter-attack and more decisive than the other teams on the counter-attack.

“And more dangerous.”

There have been many fack ups during all of this, both by the government as well as the NHS. The ‘excess deaths’, which doesn’t mean all from Covid have gone through the roof.

The NHS stopped vital treatments during the first lockdown and they have seen the collateral damage already, they know the true damage caused by that.

I saw an NHS documentary and one doctor in just one morning in his clinic in a hospital said he had seen two cases that morning that were now irretrievable, because they weren’t seen after the first investigations showed something that needed treatment.

That’s just two cases in ONE hospital, in ONE morning in ONE clinic. Just think of 66m people and the amount of people referred during that three month period who will not have been seen. That’s before you even get to the cancelled operations and treatments etc for existing conditions and disease. It’s truly sobering.

This lockdown is as much about keeping these services open, as they’re still dealing with the massive backlog from the first lockdown.

That decision killed people, and over the next decade the knock on death toll will outstrip Cover deaths, they probably already are. It’s scandalous…

Liverpool look vulnerable these days, they have missed Van Dijk a lot, they can’t seem to play with the same freedom without him. It just shows you what difference a quality signing makes and also the importance of them staying fit. They seemed to ride it out for a while but his extended layoff is taking it’s toll, the perfect opponent for Jose right now…

A pandemic is defined as “an epidemic occurring worldwide, or over a very wide area, crossing international boundaries and usually affecting a large number of people”.

Is that not exactly what it is?

I wonder which part is the con – is there no disease? If there is one, is it not contagious and unpredictable? But I feel like the answer doesn’t matter.

The rector at my university is on life support due to lung failure BECAUSE OF, not “with” covid. My friend’s mother can’t even walk up the stairs and suffers with fevers and intense pains. I could go on, but again, I feel it doesn’t matter.

The conspiracy theories peddled by Mr G disrespect the hundreds of thousands of REAL people who suffered and died, as well as the many more who lost their close ones.

Yeah well them millions who’ve lost all what you say they have lost will HAVE to rebuild and come again. LIFE. I’ve lost it all twice and I’m still in the game. It’s a jungle out here. “People like me are why we are in big trouble? People like me ain’t in big trouble. You see the blaming thing you do as in the government. I don’t do that. It is what it is and I move. Moaning blaming ain’t my thing.

In a newspaper? The same media that you’ve called corrupt and despicable, now you’re quoting them? Covid is a con, but people who “created” it will get their comeuppance for what they’ve done to old people? League being gifted to Liverpool, now only City or us can win it?
It’s almost like you constantly change your opinion, but try and tell everyone you called it all along, but you wouldn’t do that surely.

That’s in a newspaper. I didn’t dream it up. People like you are why we are in big trouble. I’m sure you are ok, but just cos you are doesn’t mean millions haven’t have their livelyhoods and lives in general destroyed. To suggest somebody is mentally ill for stating that fact is frankly dispicable.
