Sergio Reguilon is reported to already be at Tottenham as he gets set to complete his £25 million move from Real Madrid, reports Standard Sports.
The Spanish left-back was one of Tottenham’s summer transfer targets and they have beaten strong competition from Manchester United to sign him.
He spent last season on loan at Sevilla and he was voted the best left-back in the Spanish league in that campaign as he helped them finish inside the top four.
He also won the Europa League with the Spanish side last season, yet he has no place in Madrid and the Spanish champions have decided to cash in on him.
The report claims that he is set to undergo his medicals in London. The first part was taken earlier today claims the Standard and the second part will take place on Thursday.
Spurs have agreed to a buy-back option for the next two years that could see him return to Madrid within that time for £36m.
Madrid will also be given the chance to match any offer for his service that Spurs receive within that time.
Ben Davies was Spurs’ only option as left-back after the Lilywhites placed Danny Rose on the transfer market and out of the first-team picture.
Spurs have already signed a new right-back and they will look to land a new striker to help Harry Kane before the transfer window shuts.

100% agree
This buy back seems a bit weird. So if Madrid pony up £36m, we have to let him go back even if we don’t want to ?
It’ll be quite a novelty for Jose to have 2 wing backs attacking won’t it?
Well I’m not my usual grumpy self!!
Shocking performance by us, we must get that out of our system. I think Bale could do that, he certainly brings a sluggish Wales side to life.
Careful!!!
I watched Brighton against Chelsea and the score flattered Chelsea big time, Brighton looked quite good and were unlucky not to get a draw. Dunk missed a sitter and the 3rd goal was a jammy deflection – Chelsea’s usual luck inc. a pen. Don’t think they’ll be a pushover.
.. Whipping over some quality crosses into the box!!
Manure would have had him for sure if it wasn’t for the buy back clause. But their loss is our gain. At last we’ll be able to attack down both flanks with pace.
Talking to yourself, first sign of pedophilia 😉
Hang on Newcastle beat us on our own patch 1-0 last season thanks to a rare goal from Joe Linton!
Only easier ones are Brighton and Newcastle me thinks!
Not quite:
Next PL fixtures
Newcastle (H)
Man Utd (A)
West Ham (H)
Burnley (A)
Brighton (H)
A 6 pointer!
Pressure game already at this early stage!!
Not if they play as badly as they did tonight.I was surprised that they only made one change from their opening day defeat.
Cue for a Saints victory then (ouch!)
Make or break, acts of desperation when after that dire performance against Everton something needed to change rapido!
Southampton our next game in the PL played a full strength side in the Carabeo cup tonight and crashed out to Brentford at home 2.0. Leeds also out to Hull in pens.
It does if Jose laid down the gauntlet was prepared to quit!!
If winning silverware in this pivotal season is a priority then these latest recruits ought lift the gloom surrounding the club!
I know. None of this makes any sense!
Think levy has coronavirus and he left jose the checkbook?
We started off loaning LoCelso for a fee of £15m for the season before buying him outright.Arsenal paid £17m for the loan of Ceballos last season. So if we get the benifit of his time and a profit it’s good business, enjoy him while we have him.We will have our best fullback combo since Walker & Rose. £27.3m is a great price considering Chilwell cost over £40m
It kind of sounds like a loan deal where Spurs trouser a £9m profit after 2 years if RM want him back. An exciting signing. What a proposition Spurs could be with this lad and a fully fit Bale.

Very good article Bruce – thanks.
Surely there is a minimum return date for the boy anytime within 2 years sounds dodgy (3 months down the line RM lose their LBs)
