Lampard makes Premier League prediction that Spurs will like

By Bruce Grove -

Liverpool won the Premier League with 99 points last season, Manchester City won it with 98 points, beating Liverpool by 1 point in the previous campaign.

Those two have remained England’s top teams but they are struggling this season and Frank Lampard thinks that teams will not need that many points total to win the Premier League in this campaign.

Tottenham is top of the Premier League table at the moment, but they were held to a draw by Crystal Palace at the weekend.

Liverpool failed to take advantage to topple them after the Reds similarly drew 1-1 with Fulham.

Those results speak a lot about how uncertain games are in the league this season, and because of this Lampard doesn’t think that the eventual winner will win it with so many points.

He said that his team’s loss to Everton and the other results at the weekend shows that teams are becoming tighter and making it harder for the top team.

Lampard said via Independent: “I think that’s just where we’re at this season. We felt it first hand at the weekend with Everton. They’ve got good players, they invested in the summer, they’re a good squad, they were well organised and they made it very difficult for us.

“And watching the games yesterday, you see that all over the place. The league is getting tighter for whatever reason. I think teams are strengthening, they’re very well organised and I think certainly I felt our preparation into the season was slightly different so we’ve been a bit of a work in progress.

“We feel ourselves we’ve already lost some points we maybe wouldn’t have done. Everyone will feel that in their own ways. We have to make sure we just maintain our levels and keep improving to stay in that.”

Lampard is right, this season is a lot different, however, it is no coincidence that a team that has lost just once in the league all season tops the standings.

The team that wins the title will be the most consistent and right now, that is Tottenham.

Well we know who won’t be winning it.
