Keane has sweet words for Bale after his performance for Wales last night

By Bruce Grove -

Gareth Bale was in fine form last night for Wales as they beat Finland 3-1 in their UEFA Nations League game.

The Welsh winger has yet to become a regular starter at Spurs because he is still working his way back to full fitness as he didn’t see much football in the final few months of his time at Real Madrid.

Spurs have been patient with him, and it seems that their patience is finally paying off.

The attacker provided an assist for Harry Wilson’s opener for the Welsh side, and his overall performance delighted Roy Keane who was on punditry duty and he hailed both Bale and goalscorer, Wilson.

On Bale, he stated that the Real Madrid loanee is a brilliant player and that he is getting sharper as he sees more football action.

He then talks of his delight at seeing the goal that resulted from the combination of both left-sided players, hailing Bale’s lovely weighted pass for the assist.

“They have got some young and exciting talent,” said Keane on ITV as quoted by HITC

“They have, of course, got a brilliant player in Bale, who seems to be getting sharper with more minutes under his belt.

“I loved this goal [Wilson’s opener]. Bale’s gets a break of the ball, it’s the run from Wilson [from the edge of the box into the penalty area] brilliant, outstanding and lovely weight of pass. Beautiful. I can watch that all night. Fantastic.”
