Exclusive: Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink Tips Tottenham For The Premier League Title

By The Boy -

Chelsea’s legend Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, has been speaking exclusively to Ladbrokes and gave The Boy Hotspur some interesting quotes from the former Dutch professional, specifically about the 2020/21 Premier League title race.

“Everybody has a chance this year. I fancy – and this might hurt Chelsea supporters – Spurs for the title. I really do. If you look at their front three, they’ve got Gareth Bale, Harry Kane and Heung-min Son.

On paper that is the best front three in the country. And then on the bench, as replacements for that front three, they’ve got Steven Bergwijn, Carlos Vinicius and Lucas Moura. Then in midfield, they’ve got so many options.

They’ve got Dele Alli, who doesn’t even play, Tanguy Ndombele, Pierre-Emile Hojberg, Harry Winks… The only area where they struggle a little bit is at centre-half, and maybe right-back. But if you look at all the teams in the league, Liverpool have problems at the back. Man City have problems at the back. So do Chelsea and Man United.

It should be – if you look on paper – Tottenham’s year. I think it’s going to be Liverpool, Man City, Tottenham and Chelsea for the top four. But Tottenham can easily win it.

It’s the quality they’ve added in depth, most teams that go all the way consistently have players like that. We have a bigger squad now and our front three are pretty awesome. Once you get past those three to Moura, Bergwjin and Vincius I’m not seeing the quality there.

The main one we haven’t replaced is Verts. Because he was with us for so long I’m not sure people fully appreciated what a massive player he was for us over the years.

Once he started being dropped down the pecking order and his partnership with Toby got broken up, we haven’t been as good a side for me, this began towards the end under Poch, his decline mirrored our decline.. It’s the elephant in the room as far as our defending is concerned.

Very difficult player to replace, who knows about Rodon but Verts were big boots to fill. Bit like Walker, never replaced him really…

Chelsea had the 2nd best transfer window after us…but we needed major surgery in problem positions and they didn’t so much.

Their’s was more a ‘luxury window’ buying yet more attacking talent. It was the sort of window we’d love to have next if the defensive positions settle down for us – but that’s a big ask.

How much had he put away before the quote?

That’s it for me too, winning the crunch games will have to happen until the end of the season if we’re in with any chance. We are up there, I’m just not sure who’s doing what in this strange season. I see City as favorites even if we get something from them in the next game and Liverpool will probably have a good second half of the season too. Bit concerned about Cheatski, they’ve bought some real quality in. C*nts… 😂

I’m not sure we have to consistently win every game against the title favourites to have a chance of winning the title but sure, we need to be competitive against the rest of the ‘top 6’

I’d be happy with a cup as well as the league, sure.

And lets not count Leicester out completely, they have been great this season, more convincing than any other team and they will be in top4 if they keep it up

I must add, that so far this season I have liked Erik Lamela on the right wing the most (out of Lucas, Gareth or Bergwijn). He is the best defensively, the most aggressive in pressing and the most potent support player for KaneSon, and for the team in general. He is not even mentioned here in the article

Well, that’s a done deal then!! I think its a bit fanciful to be thinking in those terms just yet. Of course I want us to win it, but I think its more likely that we will win a cup competition this year. Saturday will be a good barometer of how far we have come as a team. These are the sort of games we have to win, consistently.
