Former Fulham defender, Paul Konchesky has compared Harry Kane to Wayne Rooney because of his performances for Spurs this season.
Kane has been one of the most renowned strikers in the world since he burst onto the scene at Tottenham.
He has remained one of the most reliable goal-getters in the Premier League, and while the goals haven’t dried up, the Englishman has added more to his game.
When he set up Son Heung-Min to score four goals against Southampton earlier in the season, he showed that he isn’t just about scoring and that he can provide goals for his teammates too.
Even more than that, he now does more work by dropping deep to get the ball and set up other members of his team.
This has been noticed by Konchesky like most fans and he told CaughtOffside that it makes him Rooney-like.
Rooney, who now plays for Derby County, was renowned for both scoring and providing goals for club and country.
“We all know he is a natural goal scorer,” Konchesky said. “But this season he has also brought a lot more to his game.
“He drops deep and has started playing people through and making twice as many goals, rather than just getting put through by others!
“The way he’s playing at the moment he looks more like Wayne Rooney than ever.”
