Journalist negative about Tottenham chances against Brighton today

By Bruce Grove -

Spurs have been tipped to struggle in their game against Brighton today as they play their first match without Harry Kane since he came off injured against Liverpool in midweek.

The Lilywhites have been hoping that the England captain would stay fit for as long as possible even though they signed Carlos Vinicius in the summer.

Kane has been arguably their most important player this season as he scores and provides assists for Son Heung-min regularly.

They haven’t tested Vinicius in the Premier League, and now that Kane is out, Standard Sports’ Alex Young says Spurs are in trouble.

He tipped Jose Mourinho to make Son the focal point of his attack, although he doesn’t expect the South Korean to fulfil that role well.

Kane’s importance is not lost on the journalist and he said that the team will struggle to find their rhythm without the 27-year-old, predicting a 1-1 draw with Graham Potter’s side.

He writes on Standard Sports: “Harry Kane’s injury means a rejig in attack for Spurs. Heung-min Son deputised as the lone focal point, but produced little threat.

“Gareth Bale is nearing full fitness and could earn a rare start, having scored against Brighton earlier this season. Carlos Vinicius, signed on loan for this exact reason, is the obvious choice, but does not appear to have Jose Mourinho’s full trust.

“Spurs look weak at the back and now weak up front following Harry Kane’s injury. The striker is so much more than just that, and the attack could well struggle with rhythm.”

This is typical lazy journalism, you would think Spurs were up against Barcelona later today the way Young has gone on, I mean, Tottenham have never ever won without Kane have they? It is not as if they reached a Champions League final without their main scorer.

I think he was generous by predicting a draw we lost ffs and I blame Mourinho he fucked up big time by playing Son no9 when we have a striker the Brazilian and please do not tell me he did bring him later why you need to chase the game in the 1st place and playing sissoko in defence give me a break, HH why shut the comment of all your readers for just a bunch of idiots you can just ban them instead of we paying the price for those idiots think again please cheers.

Yet you continually allow them space on here, I realise you need input but some of the stuff is just a waste and not worthy of reading never mind trying to offer a response.

Sorry… But he is not wrong. We look poor at the back, far weaker up front without Kane, turgid in midfield and brainless in the dugout. Only thing worth watching about us right now are the press conferences. It’s like the last series of America!

We struggled to get to 5th with the best striker in the world (who as it happens is our top 4 defensive player too).

If you can stop Son from scoring its hard to see where the goals are coming from.

Sounds like a classic case of a paid for Journo attempting to effect the betting market. Influencing Punters to lump on Brighton…..then Jose takes the 3 points. Graham potter? Some of these names that get jobs in the Prem now are questionable….easy touches, Brighton’s owner is suspect as they come too.
