Journalist makes bold Tottenham team to face Bournemouth prediction

By Bruce Grove -

There are a few journalists that know their Tottenham stuff and one is Football London correspondent Alasdair Gold and he is making a bold prediction about tonight’s team selection.

Gold, like many Tottenham websites, blogs and fans, has given his opinion on who Jose Mourinho is likely to start this evening against the Cherries and he is of the opinion that we will finally see the return of Tanguy Ndombele to the lineup.

Ndombele has been at the centre of feverish speculation since football’s restart including an apparent fall out with Mourinho and a threat never to play for the Portuguese again (ESPN).

Well, if Gold is correct and I suspect that he is, that will squash that rumour once and for all.

Gold’s thinking is that Mourinho has little choice but to play the Frenchman simply because of the need to rotate the team, especially with the North London derby just a few days away.

As well as the return of Ndombele, Gold reckons that Davinson Sanchez will replace the suspended Eric Dier in the centre of the defence.

This is the team that the journalist reckons Mourinho will start with this evening.

( 4-2-3-1) Lloris, Aurier, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Vertonghen; Winks, Ndombele; Bergwijn, Lo Celso, Lamela; Kane.

Part of me thinks that NDombele is not good enough for us and is a lazy so and so, but if you’re gonna pay the money we’ve allegedly spent on him, he’s got be given time and cajoled or whatever it takes to damn well play and earn his keep. Let’s see if that starts with tonight’s game.

Sounds like a plausible team. Defeat to Bournemouth is unthinkable.

If Tanguy starts I’ll certainly be wondering how much is down to Jose’s hand being forced by our schedule. Though if he doesn’t play at all this week speculation of a bust up and his Spurs future will be rampant.
