Jose Mourinho now the clear favourite to be the next manager to leave

By Bruce Grove -

Following another poor performance that saw Tottenham lose to West Ham United this afternoon the bookies have installed Jose Mourinho as the favourite to be the next manager to depart his post.

The pressure is clearly on Mourinho, it is hard to find much support for him online via social media with most Spurs fans calling for his head.

The special one is now 11/4 to be the next manager in the Premier League to be jettisoned, next is Roy Hodgson at 7/2 with Steve Bruce at 5/1 and ridiculously, Jurgen Klopp at 11/2.

Now, these odds are likely to change rapidly this evening with the likelihood that Mourinho’s price will drop even further.

Obviously, it is the weight of money that has driven the Portuguese price down and the fact that he is not odds on means that it is far from being a foregone conclusion that he will leave the Tottenham Stadium anytime soon.

There are a couple of reasons for this, one is the Carabao Cup final and another is the amount of money that it would cost Daniel Levy to send Mourinho packing.

That said, Levy can be ruthless and it would not be the biggest surprise if he did sack Mourinho.

What is certain now is that Mourinho’s job is definitely on the line.
