Ole Gunnar Solkjaer has gotten an expected response after aiming a thinly veiled dig at Jose Mourinho.
The Norwegian manager of Manchester United had suggested that the Brighton goal might have been too small if Jose Mourinho had measured it, as his team managed to beat the Seagulls 3-2.
His dig was in reference to Jose Mourinho asking for the goal at Shkendija to be changed before Spurs’ Europa League game because it was too small.
‘We have to be grateful Jose (Mourinho) is not here to measure the goalposts,’ Solskjaer said as quoted by Mail Online. ‘It might have been smaller goals.’
Mourinho didn’t appear impressed by that and when the Spurs’ manager had the chance, he made sure that he fired back at the former striker.
The Portuguese had his chance 24 hours later and he bit back well, by talking about how Ole’s team only depends on penalties.
‘I know the goalposts are fine,’ Mourinho told Sky Sports as quoted by the Mail. ‘I think Ole yesterday was so happy and surprised with what happened to his team that he had a joke, but I understand that for him the dimensions of the goalpost are not important.
‘For him, what is important is the dimensions of the 18-yard box. He would never accept to play with a 17-yard box I think he would prefer a 22-yard box. For him would be better.’
Spurs will take on the Red Devils next in the league and this is one of the best ways to prepare for the game.
