Jose Mourinho and Daniel Levy relationship will be tested this summer by one player

By Bruce Grove -

Tanguy Ndombele’s future will be one major test of Daniel Levy and Jose Mourinho’s relationship this summer reckons Football London’s Alasdair Gold.

The pair have worked seamlessly so far as it appears that Mourinho’s break from football has changed his hot-headed nature.

However, in Ndombele, a problem looks to be on its way if it isn’t handled well as both the manager and his employer seem to have different ideas about what to do with the Frenchman.

He is one of the most talented members of the Tottenham first team, yet he has failed to kick on since he joined the club last summer.

He is obviously not a Mourinho type of player and that means that the Portuguese manager will be happy to get rid of him for good money or in exchange for a player he likes.

This is why the rumour that Inter Milan wants him and they will offer Milan Skriniar in exchange has gained some traction.

Levy, on the other hand, doesn’t want to admit that signing the midfielder has been a mistake and he wants the Frenchman to remain at the club, as he believes he will eventually become a success.

There is a feeling that because he is undoubtedly talented, he might become a star at another club and make Spurs look foolish for discarding him too soon.

How this saga ends will determine how the relationship between Mourinho and Levy will be going forward.

Digressing on the question of takeovers I see that Roma have just been taken over by an American tycoon. So they do exist!. Seemingly New England Patriots owner, Mr Kraft who may/may not have been previously interested would be a welcome fit given our connections to hosting matches in the stadium.

players were under pressure to take a pay cut when staff were asked to reduce to 80%…players said no because (I think) they assumed the club would save the money and not pass on to the staff so they set up #playerstogether to then use the fund themselves….well, what ever happen to that find/money is my point?

Really it’s a simple question: Why did we acquire this player when surely the urgent priority was acquiring a quality creative midfielder or utilising the funds elsewhere to strengthen the side? Turning out to be an expensive flop. Bad decision me thinks!!
