Jamie O’Hara discusses why a transfer target should choose Tottenham over Arsenal

By Eddie Razo -

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jamie O’Hara compared the two projects between Spurs and their north London rival Arsenal to see which would be more attractive to a potential transfer target.

During talkSPORT’s the Sports Bar, O’Hara asked why any target would choose The Gunners over Tottenham if both clubs finish outside the top four this summer. The pundit explained why Spurs are a more attractive destination if the two decide to pursue the same player.

“Say Manchester United sneak into the top-four, and Arsenal and Tottenham are going for the same player; where does he go?” O’Hara asked. “It’s Tottenham. If it’s Tottenham or Arsenal, you’re going to Tottenham.’

“Number one, Tottenham have got an incredible stadium, one of the greatest stadiums in the world, [they’ve got] the best training ground in the world, one of the best managers in the world, one of the best strikers in the world, one of the best left-wingers in the world.”

However, Jason Cundy did push back on this claim made by O’Hara, saying that Tottenham is known for being bottlers.

“But Tottenham are also the biggest bottlers in the world!” Cundy said.

The Tottenham project will likely depend on whether manager Antonio Conte decides to remain at his post. The Italian tactician is hopeful that the north London club plans to back him financially to improve the squad.

Spurs having a manager of Conte’s pedigree does give them the upper hand over Arsenal. They have Mikel Arteta since many are aware of the trophies on the Italian tactician’s resume.

We pay almost as much wages as the Arse. There’s not much in it right now… We pay about 100,000,000 a year.. They pay about 107,000,000 a year….. Our stadium and revenue bodes well for the future.. We will be earning more money than them, so we will be able to spend more than them…. What’s really important here is the money is spent properly because this is where we’ve gone wrong.. We’ve been spending top fees and wages to average players for years…. I certainly trust Conte and Paratici more so than the likes of Botch and Hitchen… I’m expecting more players like Romero to come in now. Players with that winning edge/mentality.

Jamie and also Patrice Evra have their boxing debuts soon. They are on the undercard of two clown bodybuilders Martyn Ford and the Iranian hulk.. O Hara is Spurs through and through so he would say all this. He’s right too.. Arteta has done well to win some pots, and the gooners have some decent young players who are going to get better.. But we are surely the better option with Conte and Kane in our ranks.

Why? Levy does everything on the cheap. Kroenke has at least paid top wages and won stuff. Stadium and facilities nonsense

I would say they have paid better wages in the past probably a bit closer now but for some players money talks end of.

As he says, if both finish OUTSIDE top 4, THFC is by far the better option.

I have got time for little Jamie.
Quite rightly we all have a dig at constant has beens spouting on “Harry Kane should go to Villa to win trophies” but Jamie is Spurs through & through it is like one of us is on Talksport.
Cundy (mis-spelling) is correct though and what a legacy that is for Enic but that should change now Tony is in charge.

Arse have won more trophies than us despite being in decline also. So that points to more ambition doesn’t it?

O’Hara just opens his mouth and spews the current trends .
As far as signing for Spurs over Arsenal he is probably 70-80% right but of course this would reverse the moment they claim 4th place , its that simple .
However I do believe it is ‘our time’ , Jamie should stand behind those boys , along with the rest of us , enjoy the ride , and if we can make CL we should be proud and like Jamie ……..BOASTFUL !!!!!!
