Italian journalist claims Tottenham Hotspur will be “the leader” in the summer transfer market

By Eddie Razo -

The January transfer window presents an opportunity for Tottenham Hotspur to improve the squad, but no moves have been made yet, and it seems there might not be any transactions occurring this month.

Italian football journalist Gianluca Di Marzio (via FourFourTwo) stated that the north London club would be “the leader” of the transfer market in the summer. Furthermore, he adds that the difficulty of finding top players in January could result in Spurs putting off business until the summer.

“In January, it is very difficult, very difficult to find top players available who can change teams. So it is not easy,” Di Marzio said.

One player that Managing Director of Football Fabio Paratici and manager Antonio Conte are keen on landing Juventus Dejan Kulusevski, which could kick start their busy summer.

“I know that Antonio and Fabio Paratici, they like Kulusevski for example, [he] is a young Juventus player that Fabio got to Juventus, buying him from Atalanta,” Di Marzio claims.

“It is not easy, but he is one of the names [on Tottenham’s radar]. And then I think in this January, Tottenham will do something, but I think in June, Tottenham will be the leader of the market with a lot of important deals.”

Conte has preached patience, but at the same time, is demanding that Tottenham lift their standards to his level. The January window is challenging to secure players; Di Marzio is preparing Tottenham supporters to do most of its business in six months.

Whether staying pat is enough to land a top-four spot remains to be seen.

It is no coincidence that Levy plans his winter break during the January window. Nothing changes with these toxic owners. I can already see the shine coming off Conte’s luster and passion. He is catching that reoccurring manager virus that kicks in after about three months when they realize that Levy has once again spun false promises about new players and they start spouting about patience and time needed. Rinse, repeat once again.

Bissouma, Lamptey, Ward-Prowse and Madison should be on our Summer radar. We’ll end up with some fellas in Juve’s reserves, Trossard and some NFL fluffy dice in the Club hypermarket.

Actually some of the duds weren’t cheap, I’m thinking N’Dombele and Lo Celso. Just think we were on the verge of Dybala and Fernandez until Levy totted up their cost and had a breakdown.

Should have appointed Conte in the summer then and given him that window when all these wonderful players were available.

But that’s what well run clubs do, clubs that win things.

What decent player is going to want to join Levy’s circus in the summer? All the attraction developed by Poch over several seasons has evaporated due to Levy’s gross neglect and ability to buy endless cheap duds in the transfer market.
Chances are we’ll be in the Conference league again too. If we’re in the ropey we won’t be in it for long. We can wave goodbye to the CL for many years to come. The sickening part is we’d made it, only for the little bald troll to blow it. Poch led us into the Promised Land and Levy led us straight back into the Waste Land.
This is the worst Spurs squad since before Martin Jol’s time. We have more deadwood now than we’ve ever had, around 10 players need getting rid of as none of them are top 4 level. We may have been a good vintage back in Poch’s day but Levy has poured so much cold water into the glass we are now a diluted mess.

According to a report in yesterday’s ever reliable Daily Express, Levy is on Uncle Joe’s boat giving him his annual bl**job. Other rumours included they were planning transfer strategy, but I am not sure for which year. There was also a spurious rumour that the richest man in Singapore, Forrest Li, had been to a game as a guest of Levy’s and had been shown around our “world class facilities”. The visit was linked with the possibility of him taking a stake in the club or even sponsoring the naming rights. What the Express failed to mention is that the Li’s company has lost $11 billion of it’s value on the stock market. Never let the facts get in the way of a good story!

Are there any reports of the lesser spotted Levy?Into the second week of the transfer window and still no hint of transfer activity, this after being linked with all the world’s top players up to the end of December.

Yet other “lesser” tems are showing us how transfer activity should be carried out.Our CEO is an arrogant, useless meglomaniac glorying in his own reflection.Never wrong, that’s for lesser people.
