“It will be difficult to spend money in the summer” Spurs get boost in their bid to keep Kane

By Bruce Grove -

Spurs have been handed a boost in their bid to keep hold of Harry Kane after former Real Madrid president, Ramon Calderon effectively ruled the Spanish giants out of the running for his signature this summer.

With Tottenham struggling to end their trophy drought, reports have tipped Kane to leave them when the transfer window reopens.

Spurs sell players, but Daniel Levy almost ensures that teams pay top dollar to get their hands on any of his assets.

With that in mind, rumours can link only a few teams with a move for the England captain and Madrid is one of them.

Los Blancos always sign the world’s best stars and this has seen them acquire the likes of Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane in previous years.

Kane could be one player that joins them, but that is unlikely to be this summer according to Calderon.

He admitted that it is normal for them to be linked with a move for top stars, but they have less money to spend on a blockbuster signing when the transfer window reopens.

He told Talksport via Sun Sports: “There are always rumours at this time of the season.

“They are talking about Mbappe, Haaland… too many players.

“We are not in the best form economically-speaking because we are refurbishing our stadium spending a lot of money.

“It will be difficult to spend money in the summer. We always try to sign good players, we’ve been doing that for years.”

Can’t remember us ever being able to compet£ properly there. I’m glad we’re out of there. My new stadium makes me feel proud. Best stadium in the world on my plot. Everything bless for future generations.

agree, no way baldy lets him go this year.

If anyone is going, I’d say Sonny s the higher risk, no way both go in the same window either so if baldy has plans to cash in on both it makes sense to let Son go now.

That’s factually incorrect.

We’d have the £340m ENIC had saved, plus we’d have no loan repayments.

If we were still at the old place we’d have fck all money to spend.

Would take new money coming in rather than the fair play bollox that closed the shop to anyone wanting to do a Blackburn.

Just don’t see Harry uprooting a young family for Spain, five years too late there.

As regards spending money EUFA are talking about scrapping FFP in response to Covid and to get money flowing in the game.

So start pumping the oil and gas and City can now sign, Messi, Haaland, Mbappé and Harry and anyone else they fancy, no need for two sets of account books now.
