It is starting to become clear which striker Jose Mourinho wants to sign

By Bruce Grove -

Signing a backup striker to Harry Kane this summer is one thing that Tottenham cannot afford not to do.

The Lilywhites have been reliant on the England captain for goals for a long time now, but when he has been unavailable, they have struggled.

They had no backup striker for him last season and they suffered for it and they want to avoid that in the coming campaign.

Several strikers have been linked with a move to Jose Mourinho’s side in this transfer window, but it seems that the special one is now clear about who he wants to sign.

Express Sports is claiming that the former Manchester United manager is eyeing a swoop for Bournemouth striker, Callum Wilson.

The Cherries have just been relegated from the Premier League and the England international is one of their best players.

They will look to cash in on him and it seems that he will be heading to Spurs.

This is because the report claims that Mourinho has personally been in touch with the striker over making a move to North London.

If this is true then it is very significant, it is hard to believe that Mourinho would get in touch with a player unless he was convinced he wants to sign him.

Wilson didn’t have the best of seasons in the last campaign, but he has scored over 40 goals for the Cherries at this level.

He’ll score a lot more with better service and better talent around him, he’ll be the cherry on the top.
