10 O’Clocker: Miracle required to ever see Tanguy Ndombele in a Spurs shirt again

By The Boy -

Miracle: an extraordinary and welcome event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is therefore attributed to a divine agency.

A number of key players were absent from the friendly game against Ipswich Town on Saturday. Harry Kane was unavailable due to unfortunate timing, and so he and his family have been quarantined, in order to stay in line with the government’s Coronavirus policy. Mousa Sissoko has an ongoing hamstring strain, and it is widely believed that Serge Aurier is shortly to be on his way to Italy.

Tanguy Ndombele’s absence I am told by a source close to Tottenham Hotspur Football Club is merely part of the ongoing stand-off between the player and the club. Kindly note the deliberate distinction; as, yet I am unable to get to precisely what has caused this whole unfortunate situation.

Word from with in the coaching team is that the boy’s attitude is said to have been abysmal. At £200,000 a week the 23-year-old is behaving like a spoiled, sullen child. Daniel Levy I am given to understand is trying to shift the player – but discreetly and for as much as humanly possible.

Perhaps Tanguy suffered some monstrous indignity at the club’s hands? If so, we should be told!

I think you miss the point. It’s not hard once you get there, the getting there though takes lots and lots of work. I have known many come close, and it takes a lot of sacrefice and hard work. That is my point, you don’t just wake up, kick a ball for a few hours and get paid millions.

You say people are stupid to spend money with tottenham coz joe/levy are nicking it (dumb) then you get Jealous when people like myself (linked) in the community get community tickets. Says it all really. Blue&white my glasses are. I love it when i sit with clasford sterling MBE and his academy boys. I feel like security. We had to move them once when that nutty intimidating red star (I think it was) lot came over. Many were frightened. North stand. Stuffed’m by the way but got out sung (relentless they were) I rate them lot yet I don’t rate you (and you’re supposed to be Tottenham) work that one out.

Six hours a day is not hard work.

Millions of people work harder than footballers for 1% of their wages, even 0.1% of their wages.

If you are not prepared to put in 2hrs a day ball work on your own, you are just plain lazy. 12 different exercises, 10 minutes every day. Mind fully focussed. 5 minute break after 60 minutes, 5 minutes again after 100 minutes. That’s 2 and a quarter hours of work.

Less than a third of a normal day’s work for most.

30 minutes warm up and stretching, 30 minutes warm down and stretching.

Physical work as required by management.

Training with the team.

Tactics for the next match.

Watch some videos.

Oh, and make sure you eat properly. Well, the club organises all that nowadays, can even organise cooking lessons for WAGs if necessary.

Go to bed like a good boy and don’t stay up half the night boozing.

You asked how many professional footballers can pick their kids up from school?

The answer is: plenty.

The only sacrifices these guys make is not getting rat-arsed and staying up all night. Not stuffing themselves with biscuits, crisps and chocolates and not drinking endless cans of Coke.

They don’t work harder than Joe Public, they get paid far more than Joe Public.

Where they do have issues is media intrusion.

Yeah, like what they gonna do? Find more mugs to keep their mouths shut, like you? Unfortunately those mugs will need to find many thousands of pounds for regular tickets, when you aren’t getting value for money you suddenly realize you’re being taken for a mug.

I know this doesn’t apply to you as you don’t pay, but not everyone has your sh*t tinted specs on…

You my friend are one of the sane ones who have been watching ENIC closely over the years rather than putting blind faith in what is now probably the 10th ‘building for the future’ project these fakes have made us endure over the last 20 years.

The one thing I can’t get my head around on each of these NDom stories is that we are really, genuinely paying him £200k per week. I’m usually the ‘fair play to ya’ type when someone’s doing well, but this would drive me up the wall if I was in the dressing room on a fraction of that and he was not putting in the effort.

He either wants to be with this club or not, if not he has to be moved on as Sid said.
The longer he stays the more disruptive an influence, all the players not happy need to be flushed out and fresh brought in.

Thank you kind Sir. As a Spurs supporter of some 58 yrs, I hope I am free to voice my displeasure at the current regime without being threatened by wannabe gangsters. I somehow doubt that Levy’s self esteem will be hurt by the likes of me. He has a hide like a rhinoceros.

I know football clubs can get above their stations, nowadays (see Burnley FC), but I don’t see how they can embarrass supporters who post comments on blogs that might hurt Levy’s feelings.

This is why Levy is a despicable little runt. All we have is a PR Dept spewing garbage about our inability to compete with other clubs because of Covid-19 when everybody is in the same boat. To describe our so called recent transfer business as very shrewd is laughable. There is no reason why Lewis could not make an interest free loan to the club. Enic cannot expect to achieve a top four place without investment. Poch spoilt them. Levy thought he could avoid proper investment in our squad by employing Mourinho on a ludicrous salary, and as you rightly state, Mourinho has a get out of jail free card when he inevitably leaves because everybody in football knows that Levy never backs the manager at the apposite moment except for the brain dead Levy happy clappers who are thankfully dissipating in numbers.

Let’s face it, we are only hanging on to this guy because he cost £60M. He either has an ongoing injury issue and/or an attitude problem. If he was acquired much more cheaply we’d have shipped him out but the club, and Levy, don’t want to look red faced with this one and are still mulling over what to do with him. We got rid of a once very good player in Wanyama, who had a knee issue, no problem.

As an aside, I’m looking at the business that Chavski are doing and wondering what the frack is really going down here. I’m finding the constant mantra about a ‘Post Covid World’ and how terribly more difficult it is for Levy than any other chairman more and more like more the same old b***locks emanating from THFC’s PR dept.

A freebie has-been keeper and an honest lad from Saints really needs to be the beginning of a lot of business we do this summer. We need two fullbacks and a central forward player. Secondly we will need Jose to draw on all of his managerial experience to turn the Tanguy situation, by that I don’t mean freezing the lad out.

Outside of the bubble of Levy’s own little world view, other clubs are not sitting on their hands just because people are wearing face masks when they go shopping. Levy needs to back this manager, to what extent is always the issue. Jose will always have his get out clause of lacking meaningful backing if it doesn’t work out at Spurs for him, which is probably why he agreed to take the job in the first place.

To be honest, I never believed for one moment the officially broadcast club disclaimer that Ndombele was not for sale. Clearly to have admitted that he was for sale would have thoroughly compromised the club’s bargaining position. I would be much more inclined to believe that Levy is discretely trying to sell him and/or swap him for another player of comparable value. There is probably some truth in the mooted Skriniar swap with Inter.

Either way, it is a great pity that a boy with such talent should be unable to find a home here, at a club which has accommodated some of the most skillful players in the history of English football. Notwithstanding, if he is patently not going to fit into the manager’s plans, then it is best for all concerned that he is moved on and a quality player, in a position of need, brought in by way of exchange. If it is Skriniar, I would be fine with that, as CB is manifestly a position of need.

Harry Kane is a good example of a player who has improved and progressed to becoming a great player without the natural talent of others through sheer hard work and perseverance. Ronaldo has stayed at the pinnacle of his profession with both great talent and hard work. You either have it in you or you don’t.

I really don’t think Spurs have given him a decent amount of playing time.
I remember we had to endure months of Sissoko falling over giving the ball away etc before he got good at tackling He still gives the ball away and cant shoot for toffee
He was injured and at one stage forced to play.
When Kane comes back from injury we have to watch on for 3 or 4 weeks before he manages to connect with a ball or even tackle back It has been embarassing to watch.
I havent missed a Spurs match for a number of years and I really cannot say that we have given him much chance .. He is certainly a better footballer than Sissoko.
I watched the Ipswich friendly and really I didnt think much of our youngsters Sorry compared with MU or Liverpool or even Arsenal youth there doesnt seem to be much to lmook forward to coming through

The evidence speaks for itself. There was critical commentary about his attitude in the French press before he joined us. I said nothing about his mental state but merely his attitude. I do not think it can be easy settling in a new country but he appears to have made little effort for a player on £200,000 a week. History is littered with players, generally the more gifted ones in their generation, whose careers never achieved the heights they should have done. Anelka, Balotelli, Gascoigne, Ozil, Ravel Morrison, to name but a few.

He’s not going to leave this summer and he is also not refusing to train with the squad. He has ongoing problems with his knee and is therefore not training with the team.

There is a reason why his contract is running until 2025 and Mourinho`s expiring in 2023. Levy is not going to sell him, no matter what happens. He is seen as a player who has the potential to become world-class for the club and will only thrive with Hojbjerg at his side. With the amount of games coming up this season no central midfielder will be sold.

Just get over it and stop making things up to generate clicks for your blog. I don’t know why you’re so negative and almost wanting to see him fail. This is not what a supporter of a great club should be like. This is a club, where we help each other and lift each other up. If you have pleasure seeing Tottenham struggle you should consider becoming an Arsenal fan.

Marcus was perceived to be difficult. If his present club Vitoria believed all the crap said about him they wouldn’t have a great little player at their club. Unless a player is registered with the mental health services how is it possible to accurately evaluate their mental state.

Hard to believe that we didn’t check him out thoroughly before we bought him. You do due diligence when you are spending that much money on a player. It’s not just about ability but also character and temperament and there was plenty of evidence from the French press that he was difficult.

Why didn’t Thierry Henry miss home and go to poop?

I cant get my head around the level of hard work it takes to get to that level, and how so many have attitudes that really suck. I have played along side lads tht were more talented than those that made it, but in the end, attitude seemed to be the biggest divider. Now it seems so many have no clue. I admit, if I were a “Pro” my time would be over by now, so perhaps scouting has changed, but you have to ask if it is really for the better.

And the rest of the missing,

Napoli striker Andrea Petagna has now officially got COVID19.

He was playing football last week with Davinson Sanchez, Eric Dier, Erik Lamela, Giovani Lo Celso during summer break.

Let’s hope this doesn’t turn to $hit, I wonder if this is why they weren’t in the latest training pics.
