“It could happen” – Transfer insider makes big claim about Harry Kane’s future

By Mehdi Gokal -

Transfer insider Dean Jones has claimed that Harry Kane to PSG is something which “could happen”.

Kane has been strongly linked with a move away from Spurs this summer with his current contract expiring next year.

After yet another trophy-less season, there is a big chance the 29-year-old could look to move elsewhere in hope to adding a silverware to his illustrious career.

Manchester United are said to be the favourite to land him with manager Erik ten Hag reportedly making him his top transfer target.

Bayern Munich have also in the past been public about their interest and admiration for the star striker. They have not yet replaced Robert Lewandowski who left the club for Barcelona last summer and his absence has been felt this season. Kane would be the perfect replacement for him.

And most recently, PSG got added in the mix as well with reports claiming that the Ligue 1 club are also keen on signing the England striker. French newspaper Le Parisien stated that Kane is at the top of the list of attackers that the French giants are targeting this summer, with the 29-year-old being their “priority”.

Jones has now admitted that it is something which can not be ruled out. He suggested that although PSG seem to be more keen on signing localised players, they could still make a move for Kane.

He said on the Ranks FC Podcast:

“It’s opening up that money on the wage bill and maybe they could go down the Harry Kane route. The scepticism I have around it is that PSG are looking to change the model and going for more localised players. They’re linked to more players like Kolo Muani, Moussa Diaby and Marcus Thuram. They want players from Paris or even France to have that connection.”

“Their fans have been hostile recently, but there is potential there, I won’t rule it out, it could happen, but what would you do if you were Harry Kane? Where does he go?”

While a move to PSG will 100% guarantee Kane silverware, the England striker might still find other options more tempting.

A move to Manchester United would allow him to stay in a competitive league, challenge for silverware as well as help him achieve personal glory by breaking Alan Shearer’s Premier League goal-scoring record.

It is also possible that the striker ends up staying at Spurs for at least another season but a lot depends on who their next manager is going to be.
