Inter Milan have stepped up their pursuit of Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris in the last 24 hours.
That’s according to the latest report from French outlet Foot Mercato who claim that the Italian giants have ‘accelerated’ and ‘talks have started’ between the two clubs.
The speed up is due to their number one goalkeeper’s Andre Onana’s imminent departure, who is said to be close to joining Manchester United.
The Premier League club have identified Onana as the top target to replace David De Gea.
According to the latest from De Telegraaf, the Red Devils have made huge strides in their pursuit of the Inter Milan shot stopper and are close to agreeing a €55m fee for him.
It is widely known that Tottenham are looking to offload the French goalkeeper this summer,
The Frenchman has already admitted his desire to leave the club and Spurs are reportedly also willing to sell him after another poor season from him.
His contract expires next summer and they will hope to cash in on him this year.
Tottenham have already secured a replacement for Lloris in the form of Italian goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.
Lloris has been a loyal servant to Tottenham throughout his career, but his age and a season marked by several high-profile mistakes leading to goals have prompted the club to consider cashing in on him.
A move away from Spurs might provide Lloris with the opportunity to rediscover his form and rejuvenate his career.
