“I’m not going to blame anybody” Says agent, nanoseconds before specifically blaming someone

By The Boy -

Jonathan Barnett is a card. You’d certainly want him in your tent, opposed to outside it – as the old saying goes. Gareth Bale’s time at Tottenham was never going to be successful and this was always down to the player’s age, temperament, and the fact that he was imposed upon, and not requested by the then Tottenham coach José Mourinho.

Worse yet, Mourinho had to cope with a player that was seven years older than the player that most fans had in their mind’s eye, and one obsessed with his own frailty. We had the leaked audio from Hotspur Way where ‘a player’ was asked if they wanted to play here or go back to Spain and sit on a bench? Then we had the Instagram business where Bale was pulled for attempting to pass disinformation – live in a THFC presser.

Jonathan Barnett is right to defend his client as per the Mail Online quotes, but this is an extremely rarefied atmosphere that the agent is operating in. Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane doesn’t want Bale back at Madrid under any circumstances. This is not guesswork – this is in the public domain.

Oh, and if Caesar were operating today, he’d still be a military genius, he would simply one using modern technology…

Agreed.. Luka Modric was all over the park last week, and he’s 35..
I just think Bale is only focused on Wales at the Euros…, and doesnt want to do a hamstring with nothing to play for…

I think that the style and technical aspect of soccer has moved on over the past seven years. I watched the semifinal between PSG and Man City last week and when Man City in front of goal were been pressed by PSG, then guys like Foden, De Bruyne and Jesus were back their helping their defenders. The same was happening in the PSG team where guys like Mbappe and Neymar were doing the same thing when they were been pressed in front of their goals by Man City.
This is a team sport and whilst I understand that midfielders and forwards need to play to their strengths, but that has become the problem with this Spurs outfit and that is most of the players are playing for themselves and not the team.

I agree with you on caesar Harry for the reason you stated, I don’t think tactics Tim studied caesar or the considered best, alexander, come to that, but the bloke up at Leeds might. we will see next season if he is going for world domination. worth a punt.

No-one apart from Barmynett is putting him up with those 2.

Do managers ask Ronaldo or Messi to track back? Bale is a world class footballer and any team should play to his strengths. I don’t remember him being accused of not doing his work when he made Spurs virtually a one man team under Rednapp and AVB.

I’m not bothered if Bale stays or goes, the problem with playing him is he won’t press or track back consistently and cover his full back so other teams will target him and if the fullbacks are an Aurier or Doherty that’s a recipe for disaster.

Will Bale score enough goals and provide enough assists to make up for his deficiencies, that’s up to the new manager to decide.
