It was never going to be an easy job for Nuno Espirito Santo at Tottenham and if he did not know that before he took the job, he does now.
Spurs did get off to a flying start to their Premier League campaign with three straight wins including an impressive opening day victory over the champions Manchester City.
But the wheels have well and truly come off with two successive 3-0 defeats to Crystal Palace and Chelsea respectively and it is fair to say that a good number of the fans have started to turn against the former Wolves chief.
There have been mitigating circumstances it must be admitted, however, that does not excuse some of the baffling decisions, especially team selection, from the Portuguese boss. Simply put, he is not making it easy for himself.
Football Londons Tottenham correspondent, Alasdair Gold put out a tweet regarding comments made by the manager ahead of the Wolves Carabao Cup clash and it ignited quite a few responses from Tottenham fans, here are a sample.
I’m losing trust mate

This is the man who said "It's hard to improve the current squad because of how much quality we have" And I'm supposed to trust this man?

Player's not good enough, manager isn't attack minded.

does anyone really care or take notice of what the twitter mob say or do? twitter is another curse of modern times in my opinion. just watch the team im sure we can make our minds up about them without the wise observations and “measured responses” of our academic twitterati’s
Poch used to talk drivel but he did really well in the PL so I just switched the sound off.
Nuno has absolutely nothing in his delivery I can see the time coming when journos dont bother to turn up for his pressers.
hes in an impossible situation. what do you do as a manager when the players arent interested in playing? cant sack them ,or threaten them with the sack-they all have contracts …bench them? so what? most of them probabley prefer that. give them a pay rise to encourage them? that might work temporarily i suppose. do yourself a favour nuno-fall on your sword and let some other mug try to get a tune out of this squad of idlers.
