The Italian outlet believes that Manchester United is making contingency plans, in the event that Paul Pogba was to want out of Old Trafford in the short term. The favoured names purportedly in the frame according to CalcioMercato include AC Milan’s Franck Kessie and our very own Tanguy NDombele.
Kessie has caught the eye of many big European sides, including Spurs, but AC Milan is thought not to be in a hurry to part with the 24-year-old.
Quite what the appeal of Tanguy to United might be, remains to be seen. Perhaps the prestige of playing for the Red Devils would be sufficient to get his act together and finally start acting like a professional athlete? The Spurs flop has shown occasional flashes of genius, but fundamentally appears incapable of achieving the required levels of consistency. It is of note that the midfielder failed to feature in any of Tottenham’s pre-season friendlies – which only serves to underline how little effort he has been making behind the scenes.
