Tottenham has been linked with a move for relegated Bournemouth goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale, but the Lilywhites will not get him on a cheap.
The young English goalie was one of the most impressive keepers in the Premier League before the Cherries’ relegation, yet his fine showings were unable to stop them from going down.
However, his fine individual performances caught the attention of teams like Tottenham and the Lilywhites might make a move for him.
They are not the only team looking to land him this summer as Premier League sides look to bolster their team with players from relegated teams.
Mail Sport has recently revealed how much Bournemouth wants for the 22-year-old, despite their relegation from the English top flight.
It claims that the goalkeeper is attracting the attention of Sheffield United who are struggling to bring back Dean Henderson on loan from Manchester United and that they have had a bid of £15 million for Ramsdale rejected by the Cherries who are looking for around £25 million.
That fee will most likely be too much for Tottenham to pay for a goalie that will probably spend his first few years on the bench as an understudy to Hugo Lloris because the Frenchman remains the club’s undisputed number one.
Only £8M apparently. Not sure how his form has been since Stoke were relegated and he’s disappeared as an England choice, but an experienced understudy.
He would get games though with the number of matches we’re hopefully expecting. He’s English so I would reluctantly let Gazzaniga go.
bit of a waste using a foreign player spot (or two like we did last year) on reserve keepers though. Butland would be a cheaper, homegrown option with 1 year left on stoke deal
Nah, we have Gazzanigga as back up and a good yoof keeper. 25 million is way too much – how much was Lloris 10 million if I remember correct, and even with inflation, 25 mill is way over the odds.
