‘I think Mourinho might be holding him up his sleeve.’ Hoddle highlights Spurs man ahead of Chelsea game

By Bruce Grove -

Gareth Bale is gradually working his way back to full fitness after his summer move to Tottenham.

The Real Madrid loanee arrived at the club very short of fitness as he had struggled to get regular playing time at the Spanish side.

Spurs have been patiently easing him back into full-time action as he nears his sharpest levels.

He was away with the Welsh national team in the last international window and he played a full game for them.

Ahead of Tottenham’s game against Chelsea this weekend, Glenn Hoddle reckons that Bale might have a say in the outcome of the match.

He watched the attacker during the international break and he claimed that Bale might be the deciding factor against the Blues.

‘I’ve got a sneaky feeling that Gareth Bale might have a big say in that game,’ Hoddle said on his podcast.

‘I think Mourinho might be holding him up his sleeve. That’s the sort of game where you could just see him.

‘He played 90 minutes for Wales, and you could see him turning it on in a game like that.

‘It wouldn’t surprise me if Mourinho hasn’t got him earmarked for Chelsea.’

Bale hasn’t played a full league game for Spurs yet, but it is obvious to see that his fitness level is getting better all the time, and a return to form and playing alongside Harry Kane and Son Heung-min might be a game-changer for Tottenham.
