“I have no doubt that he will be a big success this season.” Pundit defends Spurs ace against criticism

By Bruce Grove -

Gareth Bale has been criticized for his contributions to Tottenham this season, but Paul Robinson is confident that he will come good.

Bale’s loan deal with the club was hailed as a transfer coup when it happened in the summer and the club was expected to be boosted by his arrival.

They have had a fine season and are on the cusp of reaching the semi-final of the Carabao Cup.

However, Bale has hardly contributed anything to the season so far.

Roy Keane, as reported in the Sun, said that he will not be able to reach the level of performance that he showed in the Premier League earlier in his career, but Robinson said that Bale needs to get more regular playing time and that he would come good.

He adds that for the money Spurs are spending on him, he will be given more chances and he will impress.

He told Football Insider: “I think they have had to bring him in sporadically.

“He got a couple of full games under his belt in Europe and it will take him time to come into that starting 11.

“They are paying a lot of money for his wages this season so I am certain he will be utilised. I have no doubt that he will be a big success this season.”
